Weekend in Indianapolis

We drove down to Indianapolis over the weekend to visit and celebrate Rae's 1st birthday.  We got in late on Friday, but Connor was so excited that when we woke him up in the car to go in, he started saying, "Bristol!  Grandpa!"

In the morning, cousin Grady came over and the boys played in the "tent" made from the kitchen table.

Cousin Rae came over a little later and we played on the couch and took silly pictures.

After a long nap for Connor (and me), we went over to the birthday party.  Connor seemed very interested in Rae's birthday and the birthday candles in the cake.

We watched her eat her cake while Connor snacked on some cheese and apples.

Grandma got him to eat more cheese and crackers to fill up his little tummy!

On Sunday morning, we all slept in a little and then got together for breakfast.  Connor had some extra time to spend with Grandma & Grandpa before we left at noon.

"Jersey Shore" has rubbed off on him

Last night, we were joking around when we realized that I've been teaching Connor "Jersey Shore" quotes for over a year and I didn't even know it.  

  It started with "Bath tiiiiime!" when he was a baby and it's expanded to everything we can think of. I added "Diaper tiiiime!" and a few others and now he says it for EVERYTHING. Last night, I told him we were going to put away laundry and he said, "Hanger tiiiime!"

 So we've taken Pauly D's "T-shirt tiiiime!" and turned it into our family motto.  :)

Daddy's Birthday

Thursday was Daddy's birthday and I planned a little special dinner & dessert for him.  Before the boys got home, I made bagel dogs and put out some crackers & asiago dip (that I might have eaten too much of).  I bought him a little birthday cake and put his gifts out on the table too.

We ate the dinner (some of Daddy's favorites) and then sang Happy Birthday.

We never used to do our own cake and candles for birthdays, but I love doing it now that Connor can join in and understands more.  I think he thought it was his birthday though!

Scary morning...

The weekend and this morning did not go well.  I haven't been able to keep most food down and my meds just come back out as well.  I started feeling very dry and dehydrated and then started worrying that this could be hurting the baby.

I called my doctor this morning and talked to her nurse.  She's so awesome.  She told me to come in for an ultrasound just to make me feel better and then had me double up on the Zofran meds while I waited to come in.  After a long wait in the nasty perfume-infused waiting room, the ultrasound tech called me in.  She saw I had previous losses so she was extra sweet with me and went over some of the details on the ultrasound and pointed out the baby parts on the screen.  She showed me that the baby is measuring perfectly and the heartbeat sounds good.  I feel better emotionally and mentally knowing that everything is fine with the baby.

Physically, I still feel like crap and I'm not sure what to do.  I'm going to try the 2 Zofran in the mornings and maybe that will help.  I'm just too tired to deal with the throwing up all day!

9 Weeks

I hate to complain, but I have to.

I'm so sick of being sick.  I'm sick of throwing up numerous times every day and not feeling like I can even get through a day. I feel like I've tried every solution...Unisom vs. no Unisom, eating breakfast vs. not eating breakfast, eating a bunch of different types of foods, resting every few minutes while trying to get ready, etc and nothing makes it better.  I hate feeling like crap every day and I hate that I don't get to enjoy my time with Connor because I'm constantly sick or too tired. 

There are only a few foods that I've been eating on a regular basis right now and they are cheesy spaghetti, apple slices, and salads.  I went through a little Taco Bell and pizza phase, but that sounds disgusting right now.  I could really go for a Panera mediterranean egg white sandwich, a basil, tomato & mozzerella sandwich, or a Greek salad with lots of feta and olives right now.  YUM!  I'm still mostly anti-sweets and I know that's messed up because I usually love them.

Clothes are getting super tight.  I think I'm going to give it one more week in regular jeans and then start switching to maternity pants.  My shirts are getting shorter and I'm running out of scarves to cover up my bump.  Again, I'm giving it one more work week before I let it all out and give up hiding it.

I decided to accept the job offer for the new job at work and I'm very nervous about it.  I told them I was pregnant already so that's one big step that's over with.  Now I'm just scared about living up to high expectations while not feeling good.  It's going to take a long time for me to learn everything with the new job and I'm worried I won't be able to do it.

Every week that goes by, I just need to be thankful I've gotten this far and hope I will feel better soon.

Mickey's Birthday Party Brunch

On Sunday, we went to a very special birthday party for Mickey Mouse at a local play area.  We met some friends from our playgroup and ate breakfast while we waited for Mickey to come out.

Surprisingly, Connor went right for the vacuum toys!

When they announced that Mickey would be coming out, all the kids gathered around the back by the door.  As soon as Mickey stepped out, everyone cheered except for...

"I scared! I scared!"
He would not let go of me and was crying hysterically!  I tried several times to get him to at least go near Mickey or look at him, but he was too scared and upset.

Well, since Mickey was too scary, we got to take over the play area!  Connor was so sweet with the baby dolls and I really wanted to see how he would treat them as a "big brother."

He put them in their bed to go to sleep and he rocked them...

Imagination

I'm so interested to see how Connor uses his imagination these days now that he's getting a little older.  He shocked both of us last night at dinner with his creative ideas!  I made ABC chicken nuggets for dinner and he happened to get an L nugget.  He picked it up upside-down and said, "Hammer!" He used it like a hammer and hammered the top of his sippy cup.  After a couple bites of nugget, he held it up again and said, "Horsie! Neigh!" I'm not sure where this came from, but I do think it slightly resembled one of those horse heads on a stick for kids to ride on.  I don't even think he knows what those are, but he seemed to be very confident that his nugget was now a horsie.

Our Weekend

Daddy and I went out for a date night and Aunt Julie came over to baby sit.  Little stinker took advantage and did all the things he knows he's not supposed to be doing like turning the lights on and off, climbing on our bed, and being naughty!  But we forgive him because he's adorable!  I know they did a lot of play-doh and cleaning with his cleaning set while we were gone too.  

Since Mommy was tired, we came home early and shared a little chocolate covered cheesecake on a stick with Connor.  SO good!

On Sunday, the boys let me sleep in a little and I came downstairs to find them hard at work putting the new blinds up!  Surprise!  Connor is such a good helper when it comes to using his tools with Daddy!
