Master Builder

We were a little shocked when we pulled the blocks out the other day and Connor kept building...and building!  Since when does he have the patience for this?  And since when can he stack so high?  We found out later that they got some new big legos at daycare, so he must be getting some practice there.

Impressive!

Fun at McDonalds

Can you see him?  He's on the second floor of the play area.  He freaked me out by climbing up there all by himself in the 30 seconds while I was texting his Daddy about lunch.  Mini heart attack for Mommy, but he was up there laughing at me the whole time!

Going to McDonald's was not our original plan for Saturday morning, but our playgroup got cancelled and I wanted to get him out so he could run around and climb.  I love this McDonald's because it's usually pretty clean and the play area is big enough for adults to go in.  I like being able to climb with him to make sure he's okay with the bigger kids.  I've been very impressed with this location because the kids are always so sweet around him.  The older kids always take him under their wing and make sure "the baby" doesn't get stepped on.  They always ask if they can play with him, hold his hand, and take him down the slide.

This time, he got to go down the big kid slide all by himself!  He loved it!

He even played basketball with the big boys!

Ketchup

Connor wouldn't eat his fries and corn last week, so I thought maybe we would try a little ketchup.  That's one of his favorite bottles in the fridge to play with, so maybe he'd enjoy it.
We have a winner!  He started feeding him ketchup with his spoon and I added corn and potatoes into the mixture.  Not for all the time, but it was a fun treat!

I love that I taught him this new trick

Don't mind our messy room in the background, but I wanted to show off the new skill I taught Connor last week.  He thinks it's hilarious to look at me through his legs!  Then when I do it, he crawls through my legs and does the trick again to look back at me!
What's up with the rash on the back of his knee?  Not sure, but it went away, so I'm not too worried...

New favorite "book"

Thanks to the new Carter's catalog, Connor has a new favorite "book."  He loves to turn the pages and point out the babies...again...and again!  On Saturday night, I finally got him to recognize the shoes and he said "goo."  That's my boy!
"Baby!"

18 months!

Halfway to 2 years old!  When did my baby turn into a little boy?

18 Month Stats:
Weight: 21 lbs, 4 oz
Height: 31.5 inches

18 Month Milestones:

• Getting much better at not throwing his food at meal times...this may change any day, but he's been very good lately

• Repeats new words such as school (skoo), read book, grapes (gape), shoe (goo), box, milk, Elmo, poo poo, balloon (boon), monkey (monk), dog, up

• Said his first sentence: "Read book."

• Starting to wean from breast-feeding at night before bed.  This has been a little difficult, but he's getting a little better now that we're offering a sippy cup of milk instead.

• Still doing great when we ask him to "put away" anything.  This works very well for cleaning and helping around the house.

• Still on 8 teeth and no more in sight

• New favorite word is "yeah" and will answer most questions with this.

• Finally learned how to use a straw!

• Tasted his first lollipop, slider and ice cream sundae

• Current favorite book is Goodnight Moon and he will point out the kitties and balloon.

• Still wearing mostly 12 month clothes.  Some of the sleeves and pant legs are too short, but he's way too small to wear anything bigger.

• Makes it clear when he's hungry by asking for milk, standing by the fridge and trying to grab the handles, pulling on his highchair and bringing his snack cup to us.

• Watches a few minutes of Chuggington, Mickey, or random other cartoons every morning on the bed with his laptop.  This lasts for only a few minutes, but it's adorable.

Weekend Photos

There was a lot of extra Mommy & Connor time this weekend while Daddy was hard at work in the basement.  He's making a lot of progress!  On Saturday morning, we left early and went to the mall playground.  Mommy dressed both of us in matching hats so we got a few extra smiles while we played.
Daddy took a break from working for a minute to play around with Connor in the gate.

On Saturday night, Mommy and Daddy went out for dinner so Grandma & Grandpa came over to babysit.  I got the most adorable text photo of Connor after his bath!

On Sunday morning, we slept in a little late and then went right downstairs for a little art project.  I bought a pack of stickers that Connor loved putting on the paper.

I took a little video of him playing with stickers.  Adorable!

After sticker time, we got dressed and went to another mall to play at the playground.  I think he liked this one even more and it seemed to be a pretty popular spot for families to hang out before the mall opened.  He loved it!

Matching Hats

We don't look that great, but I love that we got to show off our matching Gap Kids knitted hats!
Yep, Connor has the size XS/S and I have the M/L.  :)

Bathroom Reading

These photos are especially funny to me because there are a lot of similar ones from when I was a kid.  I used to read my favorite books on the bathmat next to the tub while my parents got dressed and took showers.  Connor is following in my footsteps!
A few days after I took these photos, we had to put this book away for later.  He already spit up twice IN the book and made the pages stick together.  Then he ripped some of the little flaps, so we decided it's a big boy book.

Valentine's Day Festivities

Nothing cuter than a little monkey business to start off Valentine's Day!  I designed this little thing when I got to work and sent it out to our families.  I also hung it up on my cube wall so people stopped by all day to admire his cuteness!
I got a big surprise in the morning when a package was delivered to me at work.  Roses from my two Valentines!

When we all got home after work/daycare, we opened presents.  Connor and I got Daddy some new Lacoste cologne and some Auntie Anne's pretzel kits.  Connor opened up his gifts which were Cookie Monster socks, new pajamas, and pink heart balloons!

Grandma & Grandpa brought pizza over for dinner along with a little gift for their Valentine.  This was the first time Connor has a real interest in unwrapping his gift, so he enjoyed ripping and throwing the red tissue paper.

A new soft doggie!  I think this finally convinced him to say "dog" over the weekend, so that was exciting!
