First Bath Together

I've been waiting for this day! Seriously, even when I was pregnant, I dreamed of how cute this was going to be.  I'm overjoyed at how much fun Connor had and he's begging to do it again!

Haha, he even asked me to take photos!

Best Friend

He looked up at me and said, "You're my best friend, Mama."
Heart melted.

My sick & injured family

Last week was a hard week for us.  Everyone was sick or injured :(

Poor Caylee had been sniffling, so I had a feeling her ear infection wasn't gone.  She napped in the waiting room...such a little mess!

Those flushed little cheeks just look so sad :(  I was right about the ear infection, so the doctor gave us a new prescription for something new to try.  She's also been itching her head a lot and it's causing scabs and some bleeding, so the doctor recommended something for that too.

On Wednesday, I got a call around 11 that Connor hurt his foot and he wouldn't walk on it.  It's definitely not like him to refuse to play or be active, so we were worried he might have a serious injury.  I picked him up at daycare, took him home, and he still wouldn't put any weight on it.  After his nap, I figured he'd forget about it, but he woke up crying because he couldn't walk, so I took him to the pediatric ER for an x-ray.

He was such a trooper through the whole thing and I told him from the beginning that we were going to the doctor or he could try to walk.  It was his choice to go, so I knew he had to be in a lot of pain.  Armed with a Happy Meal, we hung out in the hospital room and went for some x-rays.  Fortunately, they couldn't see any fractures or breaks, but his foot was pretty swollen by the time we left.

I had to carry him back to the car and we were home in time for bed.  He went back to daycare the next day, while limping, but he's been brave!

Connor Bakes a Cake

We were watching something on tv a couple weeks ago where the character baked a cake and Connor asked if he could make one too.  When we were at the grocery store, we let him pick out a cake and he chose the rainbow birthday cake mix.

It was so adorable that he carefully studied the front of the box with the yellow plate and blue birthday candle and then wanted to replicate the image himself too.  With some help, he mixed everything up!

Waiting for the cake to bake didn't really make sense to him, but he was excited to see it once it was done.  The funny part is that he was more interested in preparing the cake than actually eating it.  He took about one bite and left the rest.  More for me!

So proud!

First Ride in the Shopping Cart

While it's not a real shopping cart, she had her first ride on Saturday at Kohl's.  We were out shopping and she woke up from her nap.  I wasn't in the mood to take out the stroller just to run in for 5 minutes, so we took a risk and tried it out.  I had to make the strap as tight as it would possibly go, but it worked!  She was so teeny tiny in that big cart (although it doesn't look too bad in the pic).  You could have fit 4 of her in that big seat!

As I wheeled her around, she caught everyone's attention that was walking by!
So tiny and so cute!

Daycare Highlights - Caylee

I'm starting from the most recent and going backwards.  She looks SO big here!

These photos shocked me when I saw her with the group for the first time.  She's finally able to join in with the other older infants!

I love how she's rolling around on the floor during story time

Haha, her little balding head is quite fun to play with!  She takes after Mommy :)

The letter C is now his favorite letter after this activity

Using mason jar tops to paint circles

This is the 100 piece puzzle he accomplished last week.  I'm amazed!

Painting with leaves

I love how he's the only one with his sticks in the air in this music class photo

My little cashier at the Walgreens store! I found some coins in the laundry a few days later :)

I'm not sure if he thinks hot dogs smell good or bad, but it's funny!

Some class photos they sent us recently...

This is his core group that he's grown up with.  They're all right around the same age so they hang out together most of the time.

Matching Track Suits

Seriously.  I just about died when I put these on.

How freaking cute are they?!?

My kids need more matching clothes.

Our Week

I'm really enjoying that we've been less busy during January and have more down time at home.  There's more time to play and spend time together as a family.  Connor and I did a new 65-piece Mickey puzzle he got from Nana & Papa's house.

He was so proud!  Supposedly, he's up to 100 pieces at daycare, but I haven't seen it myself yet.

He also loves this new paint with water book, and he knows how much I love when he does art.

Caylee was finally awake during a restaurant visit so she got to sit in the booth next to me at Ram.  She was so excited! A whole new world for her!
