Cake & Presents

#minionmania continues with the birthday cake!

The wind kept blowing the candles out, but we finally got them all lit at the same time so he could blow them out!

I'm so happy to have some wonderful photos of us of this great moment!

Finally...presents! Connor's reaction to presents was the most adorable and funny thing.  He's usually more excited with the idea of opening gifts than actually seeing what's inside and playing with it.  This is the first time that he had a real reaction to what was inside and it was the most precious thing ever.  I'm so glad I have videos of it because it's something I want to treasure forever.

He actually "read" a couple of the cards which was also really cute!

When he opened every gift, his reaction was, "Whoa!" with shrieking and yelling!  Everyone was cracking up because he was just so funny and enthusiastic about everything!

His obvious favorite was the Transformer that he's been talking about for the last week.  Great Uncle Stan didn't even know he wanted one, but he picked a great gift because Connor was obsessed from the moment he ripped off the paper!

Almost instantly, he opened the Transformer, thanked everyone for his gifts, and asked to go to bed.  The poor guy was worn out.  Of course, he insisted on taking the Transformer to bed with him.  We could here the little clicking noises from our bedroom as he played and fell asleep with it.  He was so exhausted that I could hardly even get him to talk to me about what a great day he had!

The Birthday Party

Connor was busy playing baseball & bubbles at the beginning of the party, so I have a lot of that on video.  I tried to get some photos of everyone else before things got too chaotic with the food.

Caylee loves her accessories!

Rae & Caylee had a lot of playing time while they watched the boys play sports

They reminded me of two little old ladies at the racetrack or something :)

Everyone loved their Minion glasses!

Ryan was like the big brother of the party, so the boys enjoyed playing and hanging on him all night!

A break for pizza and fruit...

Daddy would be proud of his little golfer (in a dress)!  She can't walk, but she loved that golf club!

Minion Birthday Details

#minionmania at our house over the weekend!

This was a low-key birthday and it was actually nice not to stress as much as I usually do about birthday parties.  I have to admit that there were numerous times when I started to wish I did more and wanted to start going all out with crafts, but I just didn't have the time and energy.  It ended up being just the perfect amount of decor, food, and fun for a small group and I know all the kids had a great time.  That's really all that matters in the end.

Connor's Birthday at Daycare

I love taking Connor to daycare on his birthday and making a big deal about it at school.  His teacher, Catherine, was also his infant teacher when he turned 1, so it's pretty special to have known him as he's grown up.

He didn't even want breakfast because he wanted to play with his friend, Cole, but I finally got him to sit down and eat some cereal and a banana as I was leaving.  As a birthday gift for the class, he brought a 100 piece safari puzzle.  They'll have to work on it for awhile before they get it, but some of the kids really enjoy the challenge of working on them and getting better each time they do them.

I also got to spend a little extra time in Caylee's class and see her sit at the table like a big girl for breakfast!

Our Week

A little sidewalk chalk fun and I taught Connor how to write something special...

When your kid doesn't want to nap, this is what he does with his chairs...

"Look Mama, I'm making a snow angel!"

Playing the Ninja Turtles Nintendo game I got from the flea market...

The baby swing has only been out for 15 months and he decided to turn it on and try it out this week

On Thursday, daycare had a summer carnival in the evening. Caylee got right in with the big kids and splashed in the water to look for ducks!

Photo booth fun!

In honor of his birthday, Connor got a blue glitter 4 on his face at the face painting booth!
