Milestones at 13 months

Somehow, all these big milestones are happening in such a short time!  She's growing up before our eyes and it's all happening so fast.  I feel like 13 months seems to be such a momentous age for her.

• I went upstairs to change Caylee's sheets and Connor ran up the stairs.  Caylee crawled in behind him which means she somehow crawled up the stairs all by herself! I didn't even know she could get up one step!

• Officially waving hello and goodbye

• First tooth popped

• Working on standing by herself


• Drank from a straw



• First taste of German food (brats, sauerkraut, etc)

• Trying to talk! Sometimes we think she's saying random words, but who knows? We thought we heard Connor a couple times which wouldn't be surprising since we yell it so often in our house.

• Next week, she'll spend her first few nights away from me :(  It's going to be hard for both of us (or maybe just me), but it's probably time to do it.

Pacifier Love

She loves her pacifier!  I try to keep at least 4 (and hopefully 6) in her bed at all times.  One goes in her mouth and one usually goes in each hand.  She's so sweet when she sleeps! 

Birthday Celebrations

We had our annual birthday celebration for Grammy, Grandpa & Uncle Sam at the restaurant where Uncle Sam works.  We've been dying to try the giant pretzels and Caylee's face lit up when she saw them!

Connor and I got to take a tour of the kitchen (and new restaurant in the back) which was pretty cool to see.  He played "restaurant" for a few minutes!

Sprinkler Fun

It finally got hot out and Caylee got to play in the sprinkler for the first time!  She was more scared than we expected her to be, but I think the water was also pretty cold.  I'm sure she's also done this at daycare, but we haven't witnessed it ourselves yet.

The slide was much more entertaining for them and we took turns teaching her how to use it.

While Daddy made dinner, Connor took Caylee on a little "ride" on his gator car.  Great afternoon in the sun!

We finally had extra time to go to the park one evening after dinner and Caylee finally decided she loved the swings!

Splash Park & the Weekend

On Saturday, we met up with Lincoln & his mom at the splash park.  At first, Connor was really scared to get in as expected.  He changed his mind after a trip to the potty and then decide he was really excited to play with his "new best friend Lincoln."

After that, I could hardly even keep track of him because he was running so fast through the water!

They got tired pretty quickly, so we dried off and headed to lunch.

We ate lunch and then the boys both said they were tired and laid down on the big chairs.  You know your toddler is tired when they admit themselves that they're tired and want to lay down!

And this is 15 minutes into the car ride home...

After nap and a bad rain storm, we headed off to a 40th birthday party!  While Connor & his friends got muddy and wet in the grass, Caylee, Daddy & I hung out on the side.  I think Caylee was jealous of our drinks, so she tried out Daddy's water bottle for the first time.

As more people showed up at the party and the DJ started playing, Caylee and I did a little dancing! #tinydancer

On Sunday, we woke up and Connor helped build his new Ninja Turtle table & chairs.

Minions! Connor's 1st Movie

On Sunday, we went to the movie theater for Connor's first movie!  Since he loves Despicable Me 2, this was the perfect movie to try in the theater. 

We talked up the big "tv" screen and the giant popcorn to make it sound really fun.  He got a giant bag and ate almost the entire thing himself!

He actually did really well during the movie!  I think the popcorn kept him occupied and the fact that he didn't nap made him extra tired.  He ended up on Daddy's lap for the last 30 minutes or so.  There were a few times when he shrieked out loud at a funny part when everyone else was silent and it was hilarious!

It was pretty special to enjoy this milestone with him!
