Lego Play Gone Bad

A little Lego time one night after dinner...(Note the matching tracksuits because, well, it's darn cute)  Caylee found the one Lego piece that looks like a pacifier that she took for herself.

And then Connor wanted it...

Sharing is caring.  We're working on it.

Pet Expo Date

Connor and I had a special date on Saturday to the Pet Expo!  We haven't had a Mommy & Connor date for awhile, so this was the perfect opportunity to do something together that we both enjoy.

He begged to go on the escalator a few times and asked to take pictures :)

It was mostly dogs, but we got to play with some baby kittens

He stopped by every.single.dog to pet them.  One little pet and he was on to the next one!  He did a great job of holding my hand the whole time and he was pulling me from booth to booth so he could see every dog and cat.

We attended the puppy baseball game where dogs dressed up in Cubs and White Sox gear.  Connor's favorite was the Great Dane dog who was wearing a full White Sox uniform including a jersey, pants and sunglasses!

At the end, we stopped at the judged cat show where we looked in all the little cages at the cats waiting for their turn.  So many to look at!

It was so much fun to spend some quality time with my little man and then he asked if we could go to the zoo after to see the lions, elephants and dinosaurs :)

Our Week

Connor helped make his first pizza on Monday.  He was a great helped and he's starting to get more interested in cooking.

It was gorgeous outside at the beginning of the week, so we played on the grass and watched the boys outside.

Kisses!

Ouch!

Friday was Crazy Hair Day at school.  I tried so hard to find something creative to do with Connor's hair, but we didn't have a lot of choices with it being so short.  I found some blue hair crayons that we used to color a blue streak down the middle.  A big cheese with his blue hair!

He wouldn't give me a good smile until he got to school :)

Shopping Cart for Two

Friday night, they finally got a chance to ride in the car for the first time together!  Connor picked out the fire truck and they both got strapped in for a ride.

He spent the ride showing her how to use her steering wheel and basically keeping her upright since she kept falling over!

Heart melted.  It was adorable!

Connor's Drawings

Connor started bringing home the most adorable little faces.  At first, I didn't even think they were his because they're so different than the usual scribbles he does.  But after awhile, I noticed the pattern that they all looked the same and his teachers told us he draws them all on his own.

He's also been working on writing his name and perfecting his letters!

Because he's getting so good and I love his faces more than anything, I decided it might be fun to turn one into a pillow for him.  I had him draw with a fabric marker on fabric backed with pellon and then I put soft fleece on the other side.

He LOVES it!  He's been sleeping with it every night!

Sleeping in her crib

I feel like a lazy parent, but I also feel like I did what was best for us.  Caylee has been sleeping in the rock & play in our bedroom since she was born.  Since she's been sleeping through the night, why not? I'm working full time, I'm tired, and I want Connor to be able to sleep well too.  Now that she's 9 months, we really need to get her in her crib.  She sleeps in a crib at daycare, so at least she's had some experience with it.

We waited until we knew her ear infection was gone and she was healthy.  Last weekend, she had a successful, but short, nap in there.  (So tiny in a big bed!)  She was able to make it through the night with 4 wake ups for a pacifier which wasn't too bad.  But after that night, she started to get a cold and she would cry every time we put her down in her crib.

So we brought in the marshmallow suit!

This thing cracks me up, but hey, whatever works.  So she still has a runny nose, but we need to try again this weekend.  This is the start of getting her out of her swaddle, so it's going to be a slow transition.  I figured she could at least attempt to reach her own pacifier wearing this, but it's pretty hard to move around. Sleep, girl!

Nana's Birthday

Nana's birthday is our annual St. Patrick's Day celebration!  This year, we had the party at Papa's new home and everyone met for lunch in their green.

Caylee wore her new green bow that everyone loved and she pigged out on salad from Grammy.

We took some group photos while we waited for the food.

After lunch, we sang Happy Birthday and Connor sat on Nana's lap like he always does.

They got down to one candle and couldn't blow it out!

As usual, the kids were quite the attraction for all the people at the retirement home.  Connor had a great time interacting with everyone and helping Nana open her birthday gifts.  By 1:00, we could tell he was exhausted...

First Hairbow!

She pretty much has no hair, but she has just enough on the top for me to get a tiny little bow in now!

You can tell how much she loves it too!

So that gave me an idea...

Mama must make more bows in every color now!

St. Patrick's Day bows were first on the list.
Done!
