Christmas Fun

On Christmas Eve, we had a normal work day and Connor went to daycare.  After I got home from work, we packed up the car and headed to Indianapolis.  Connor LOVED his new Mickey Mouse DVD and he got to use headphones for the first time!

We stopped at McDonalds for dinner where Connor did awesome eating all his chicken nuggets and some fries.

Christmas morning was a little unusual because we didn't open gifts.  Connor insisted on playing basketball with Dada after breakfast.

For lunch, we went to Teri & Mark's house to see Grandpa's side of the family.  Connor quickly realized how many presents were under the tree and started to open his big pile!

He did a great job unwrapping all his gifts!

The funny part is that he had more fun unwrapping and he didn't even care about what was inside!

Selfie with Mama!

He loved opening gifts so much that Great-Grandma let him help open some of hers!

They had a big chest of old toys and Connor's favorites were the beaded necklaces he found at the bottom.

Hard to get all the kids to stay still at once, but this was the best we could get!

And look who passed out on the way back...

After a long nap, Grandma's side of the family came over.  Connor & Grady were two peas in a pod the whole weekend and had so much fun together!

After dinner, the boys snacked on popcorn while they watched Christmas movies.

It was so adorable to see them hanging out together and I think Grady's patience for movies helped Connor learn to sit still too.

Potty Training Begins

Now I get why parents say this is one of the hardest things you have to do as a parent of a young child.  This has happened so fast and we definitely weren't quite ready!  Since Connor started int he big kids room at daycare. they have the children sit on the potty at scheduled times each day.  He's only been in the big kids room for about 3 weeks, but the teachers keep saying how he's catching on very quickly.  This was quite a shock for us because we thought he'd kinda watch and try for the next few months and then maybe start getting more serious.

In just a couple weeks, he's gone from all diapers to wanting to go potty and making us crazy with his demands to do every part of the potty process all by himself.  We've quickly learned how to tolerate it, but it's been really hard!  At first, he was peeing on the floor and slipping in it because he couldn't control when he had to pee and it would come out so fast.  Now, he's a little better at sitting longer so he can wait for it to come out.  He goes potty every morning at home and insists on reading books while he waits.  Just in the past few days, he's been asking to be left alone when he's on the potty which is actually kind of cute and gives us a little break.  We have a very long way to go with this process, but we're starting!

This is the other little challenge that we have.  He's started to take off his diaper and pants while napping and then fall asleep in his mess.  He doesn't quite understand that he needs to call us if he has to go potty, but we're working on it.  He'll be moving to a big kid bed eventually, but my plan is to wait until spring if we can.

Next up, underwear!  Daycare said they'd like to try with him during the day, so I'd like to get more details from them about their plans and then we'll go shopping.

14 Weeks

Not much to note this week with the holidays going on.  The week went by so fast since we weren't home for most of it, so another week is done!

Not a good pic, but a little more bump now.

Weekend Fun

It was so nice to have another restful weekend!  Not sure how this happened, but I guess my crazy planning was beneficial because I was done buying gifts and we had no other activities!

We had a pretty relaxing Saturday so we went out for pizza for dinner at one of our favorite places.  They had football, basketball, and The Santa Clause playing on the tvs so Connor was easily distracted and let us enjoy our meal.  He was so into watching tv and looking at the Christmas decorations that he even let us feed him!  Dinner without a fight was amazing! :)

When we got home, we told him he could watch the rest of The Santa Clause on tv.  He snuggled with Daddy on the couch and I thought it was adorable.

On Sunday morning, we made Christmas cookies!  Thank goodness for pre-cut frozen cookies because that was about all the energy I had.  He helped me place them on the cookie sheet and watched me put them in the oven.

When the cookies were baked, I set up some icing and sprinkles to decorate.  Daddy let Connor go a little overboard with the icing, but he loved it!

Sugar high!

Yummy cookies!

Christmas Prep

This shirt might be the cutest thing ever.  I had to get a good photo of Connor wearing it before the holiday season was over.

Who needs mistletoe when you're this cute?

Connor also made this adorable Mistletoes art project at daycare last week.  Looks like he loved getting his toe painted green!

Little cutie!

13 weeks

Our little baby at the NT scan this week!  This picture isn't very good, but I was able to see a lot on the screen during the test.  The tech said everything looked perfect and the baby was measuring just right.  I'll get results from the blood test late next week with the holiday delay.

As for me, I've been feeling better this week and I'm down to one Zofran every morning.  I'm still throwing up occasionally, but it's still much better.  I went to the doctor because my coughing was starting to hurt my chest and she told me I didn't have pneumonia (yay!), but she gave me an inhaler to help with the spastic coughing.  Even after only 24 hours, I noticed a big difference and that's been really great.  Unfortunately, the chest/rib pain is worse and I may have bruised a rib or pulled some muscles from all my coughing.  I'm hanging in there with the pain, but it's hard to move around especially in bed.

Connor is starting to understand that there's a baby in my tummy now!  We have him give the baby kisses and we remind him that the baby will be coming out soon.

Pregnancy Reveal

Our official Facebook annoucement

Snow much fun!

Our first big snow fell this weekend and Connor was very excited to go out and play in it!  He got his first shovel for Hanukkah and he ran right out to help Daddy with the driveway.

He quickly got bored of shoveling, so we played in the snow on the side.  Daddy threw piles of snow on him and he thought it was funny!

Oops.  Daddy threw too much!

Connor pulled out the wagon from the garage and asked me to take him for a ride.  This is extra tiring when there's snow on the ground and I'm pregnant, but we did it!

We also took out the slide and tried to slide down it into the snow piles!

We had a great time outside together!

Our Week

We woke up to this one morning...
Connor took off his sleep sack during the night and put it over his head like a hood!

Connor and Daddy made a fort last weekend and we kept it up all week to play in.  I think after a few days I enjoyed it more than anyone!  I went inside and begged Connor to come in and play.

The ipad is getting lots of use now.  :::sigh::: Connor loves watching this one episode of Mickey when Santa comes and he's also been playing Paint Sparklers a lot too.

Connor went to his first dentist appointment on Thursday!  In preparation, we worked on brushing his teeth all week.  I was sad I couldn't be there for his first appointment, but Daddy said it went very well.  He has some white spots on his teeth so we got some special paste to put on every night.

On Friday night, daycare had their annual holiday party!  I surprised Connor by knocking on the window from outside.  He ran right over to the window and jumped up and down until I came into his classroom.

This was his first full week in the big kids room, so I asked him to show me around and point out some of his favorite toys.  He went right to the dress up clothes and grabbed the mailman hat.  His friend, Sienna, put on the policeman hat and let me take pictures of them!

They had some cookie decorating and ornament making activities that we participated in.  When Santa came, Connor got really scared and he started getting clingy.  "I scared!"  But we had fun and it was nice to spend a little extra time at daycare playing!
