Tubes Pre-Op

On Monday, we went to the pediatrician to have Connor's surgery pre-op exam.  We've been very lucky that he hasn't been sick at all during the fall and winter, so he hasn't been there since his 2 year check-up.  He's been doing amazingly well with all the doctor visits and he's not scared like he used to be.  He actually insisted on getting a sticker when he was done without anyone even mentioning it!

He got to go on the big kid scale for the first time to check his weight and he's up to 26 pounds now.  I can tell he's growing, but he's not getting that much heavier.  Fine for me right now because he's hard enough to carry around these days with a pregnant belly!

All his paperwork is done and he can go for surgery on the 11th as long as he doesn't get sick.

Like mama, like son

I love that he sleeps exactly how I do.
On your stomach with your hands under you is the best...

Family Fun on Saturday

It's not very often that we have a completely free day to do whatever we want as a family.  Since it was really cold out, we decided to take Connor to a new play area in the mall that I've heard great things about.  He was a little nervous when we walked in, but we got him to warm up quickly.

He loved playing catch with the giant balls!

And playing soccer too...

They had cute little rides to go on!
He started to notice all the snacks that the other kids were eating, so we headed over to lunch.  Daddy thought he'd love going to Rainforest Cafe to see all the animals, but he was very wrong!  Connor was terrified of all the fake animals and refused to even sit by himself.

This is his "I'm going to murder someone" face.  I don't think I've ever seen him look this upset before!  I really think the fake animals freaked him out and he would have been more comfortable with real animals!

He took a LONG nap after that morning...and I loved that he sleeps the same way I do!

We all made dinner as a family and Connor even got to help give Kitty a little snack.

Our Week

I went to a baby shower at work and brought home an extra cupcake for Connor.  He loved his "happy birthday" snack!

We also discovered another new snack that he loves - pretzels and peanut butter!  Genius idea from Dada!

Modeling his hood and shark slippers

He asked me to take a photo of him and Kitty together.

Some new bump pics from the bathroom at work...

This one is hard to see the bump, but my new scarf is cute!

Over the weekend, I worked on narrowing down choices for bedding and it's down to 3 for each gender.  I'm so excited to find out and start getting the room ready!

Feeling the baby move!

I've been waiting for this day and I kept thinking I felt something, but wasn't completely sure.  On Thursday, I KNEW it was real and I've been feeling it ever since!  It happens mostly when I'm laying in bed or sitting at my desk at work.  Such a wiggly little baby!

Daycare Highlights

Connor has been doing awesome in the "big kids" room.  He's still the youngest, although the new boy should be coming in soon.  I know he has some trouble communicating with the older kids, but he's working on it.

I love all the crafts they do!

Playing with snow when it's too cold to go outside

Dancing on Thursday mornings!
Painting with girlfriend, Sienna
Ice cubes in water at the sensory table

That smile!

Doing yoga
Working on color matching

Our Week

Love this picture so much!  This was my favorite book when I was a kid and he's in my childhood bedroom!

We had to take Daddy's car to the dealer, so Connor fed his baby while we waited in the car.

I picked Connor up from daycare a lot last week and he didn't want to leave!  He was drawing me pictures on the little drawing board one afternoon.

On Friday night, Connor had his first taste of Portillo's chocolate cake!

He loved it!

Saturday morning, Connor helped Dada shovel the snow while I sat in the car.

We went to look at "big boy" beds for Connor at Ikea.  He wasn't very interested in beds, but he did love the escalator!  In bed news, he had absolutely no interest in the twin bed and refused to even get on it.  He did really like the toddler beds, so I think we're going to go with one of those.  The Ikea toddler beds are actually longer than a normal toddler bed, so it should last for a few years.

Daddy finally decided to give in and buy a snowblower after the awful winter we've been having.  Connor was such a good helper and he pushed the snowblower to the front with the salesman at Lowe's.

The ipad obsession continues as he insists on watching Mickey ALL the time...

Dry!

So proud of my little guy!
He went all day Thursday and Friday at daycare with dry underwear and no accidents!

17 weeks

So this was my way to pretend I was drinking champagne this week.  The urges to want beer and champagne are getting bigger and I had to find something to satisfy myself.  I think I drank the whole bottle in less than an hour!

I'm also currently obsessed with cheese fries.  I had them Friday and Saturday and they sound pretty good to have more right now too.

I feel like I'm getting close to being able to feel the baby move.  I feel little flutters, but I think it's gas right now.  Hopefully, it will be in the next few weeks that I'll actually feel the baby.  I'm also counting down the few weeks until we find out the gender.  Can't wait!  It's going to be so nice to know so we can start organizing and getting things ready.

Connor's First Pair of Underwear

Big boy undies started last week!

He was so excited to pick out his own pair and put them on himself.  I probably emphasized this a little too much because he now insists on picking out his underwear every single morning.  His favorites are currently Thomas the Tank Engine, but I just purchased some Mickey to try out next week too.

He's been having about 2 accidents a day at daycare, but they said he's doing very well.  He wears a diaper under his undies for car rides or if we get really busy.  He loves to go potty all by himself which includes putting his potty seat on the potty, getting the stool situated, flushing, using toilet paper (towels), and saying "I did it!" when he's done.

Our Week

Connor found Dada's bag of pretzels and stole some for a snack before dinner!

We were putting away laundry and Connor requested to try on Dada's new Sesame Street pants!

A little big, but cute!

I opened up a new winter craft and it was a hit!  Paint with water is my new favorite art activity because there's no mess!

Some snuggling selfies in bed...I think this was probably our best snuggle in a long, long time.

A typical morning in our house...

Reading up on Nelson Mandela in the line at the grocery store on Saturday.

Eating dinner with Aunt Julie while we were out on our date night on Saturday.
