Our Week - Caylee Edition

Only pics of my little smiley Caylee this week!

Caylee enjoyed her first snow last Sunday.  We bundled up and went shopping for a bit.

Can she be any more adorable in her fuzzy hat and holding onto her new fuzzy teddy bear?

This was her second try at rice cereal.  She took a little and then seemed to get bored...but lots of smiles!

Future ballerina!  Look at that pointed toe!  She took her whole bath with her leg in the air.

I think she's starting a little growth spurt.  I picked her up from daycare on Friday and found her asleep on the floor with all her friends playing around her.  Awww!

Caylee's Hebrew Naming

Caylee had her Hebrew naming ceremony on Friday night.  We did hers a little differently than Connor's, but it was very special especially as a female member of the family.  To pass on a family heirloom, I took pieces of Grammy's Bat Mitzvah dress and made a small tallit and hairbow.

The lace is from the top layer of the dress and the edging is from the lining of the dress.  The lace flowers were just a little extra detail I made on my own because I thought it needed a little something extra.

I was a little worried about how Connor would do at the temple and it was also way past his bedtime, but he did awesome!

Not a ton of time for photos, but we got a few before the service started.

Right as the service started, Connor posed by himself with Caylee and said, "Cheese!"  We all grabbed our phones and just started snapping photos.  Priceless!

Caylee and Grammy

Connor did awesome during the beginning of the service.  I think he really enjoyed the singing and instruments at this temple (not the same one I grew up going to).

When it was our turn to go up, we all went up and Caylee was blessed by the Rabbi and congregation.

Connor did amazing!  He got a new book from the Rabbi to share with Baby Caylee too.

Daddy and Connor went home and the girls stayed for the rest of the service.  At the oneg, Caylee was all smiles for her big night!

First Solids

At just a little over 5 months, it was about time to give Caylee her first taste of rice cereal.  I'm still kind of shocked that it's already time for this because she's my little baby, but time goes so fast.  I actually didn't think she was ready (maybe I was in denial), but she sure was!  Even for the first bite, she grabbed the spoon and shoved it into her mouth!

And she ate more!

She kept opening her mouth for more and grabbing my hand!

She finished the entire container that I made!  Such a little piggy!

Our Week

Connor has been into play-doh recently, so we've been playing on the kitchen table a lot.

Once I showed him that I could make a penguin out of play-doh to match his potty penguin timer, he was obsessed!

Caylee ready for her bath!  This star fish toy is perfect for her little hands.

Grandpa came over a couple times during the week to bring pizza and ice cream.  Connor showed him how to play The Matching Game.

Caylee and Kitty spending some quality time together.  She was trying to wiggle towards him!

Caylee has been sticking out her tongue a lot lately! Silly girl!  I snapped a pic of her while we waited for a clothing swap to start on Saturday.  I got some really nice things for Connor and her, but I focused more on Connor this time since she's so much easier to shop for.

A little fun with my girl and her hair bow :)

Chevron pacifier.  Love it.

5 months!

No stats this month, but I'll have new ones for 6 months at her check-up.  I'm guessing she's about 12 lbs and some ounces now.

I can't believe our little cutie is almost 6 months old!  Where did the time go?  In the last month, she had her first ear infection, but she was a champ and it didn't even bother her.  Besides her stuffed nose, she was still a great sleeper and in her usual happy mood.

She's been getting more affection from her big brother including hugs and kisses every day at daycare drop-off.  He's also started to pose for pictures with her voluntarily.

We retired her newborn pacifiers and I got her some new big girl pacifiers that stay in a little better.  She starting to try to put them in her mouth herself...although she usually misses and ends up with the back or side in her mouth instead!

Caylee experienced her first Halloween by dressing up as a pumpkin, flower, and ladybug during Halloween week.  Lucky girl!  She got to dress up several times and looked so cute in everything!

She found her feet and has been having a blast pulling on her socks to expose her cold feet.  She still loves tummy time and sitting up.  And speaking of sitting up, she sit on her own!  Just for a few seconds, but she did it!

His new favorite game is "The Matching Game" and he loved that Curious George was on so he could identify pieces of the game with the show.
