Our Week

A little sidewalk chalk fun and I taught Connor how to write something special...

When your kid doesn't want to nap, this is what he does with his chairs...

"Look Mama, I'm making a snow angel!"

Playing the Ninja Turtles Nintendo game I got from the flea market...

The baby swing has only been out for 15 months and he decided to turn it on and try it out this week

On Thursday, daycare had a summer carnival in the evening. Caylee got right in with the big kids and splashed in the water to look for ducks!

Photo booth fun!

In honor of his birthday, Connor got a blue glitter 4 on his face at the face painting booth!

Who does Caylee look like?

Everyone asks me all the time and we never really had a concrete answer...until now.  We just got a few of Daddy's baby pictures and it's very clear that she's the girl version of him!

Weekend in Indianapolis

This was my first weekend away from both kids and I was a little nervous about it.  As I teared up saying goodbye on Thursday morning, I asked for big kisses and hugs.  I got big smiles from Caylee, but Connor was too busy watching tv.

Her cute little face made me melt!

Daddy texted me pictures all weekend while I was in Iowa City.  They went to the zoo on Friday!

Ice cream for dessert

On Saturday, they went on the boat and tried swimming in the lake for the first time.

Connor was very brave for trying out the raft

On Sunday, they took a walk to the park in the morning...

Holding hands!
A great weekend for all of us, but I was happy to be home to see my loves after a few days away!

Our Weekend

Everyone met at Steak & Shake for a fun dinner out.  The waitress gave us little red cars to put together while we waited for our food and the kids had a great time decorating & playing with them.

I love this photo!  I showed her how to "drive" her car!

On Saturday morning, we got up extra early (thanks Connor), so we ran to McDonalds for a special breakfast and then headed to basketball class.  While he still needs work with dribbling, Connor impressed us with his rebounding skills.  He took it so seriously that he was wrestling the ball to the floor to get it before anyone else did.  He was actually the only kid who paid any attention to the ball right after it went into the net!

This photo is so great because it reminds me of all the photos of Daddy playing as a kid.

The kids got to play their first "game" for just a few minutes.  He got the ball once, didn't dribble, but he ran to the basket and tried to shoot!

After class, we played at the park and then headed to Jack's 4th birthday party!

Jack's cars were a huge hit, so they all took turns driving around in circles on the driveway.

Umm, no. That didn't last long.

Seriously.  The lace leggings and zebra print looked so cute!  Too bad she ripped a hole in her leggings during the party!

Going Home & Father's Day

On our last morning, we ate breakfast and took a few last pictures to remember our fun vacation!

Connor loved his big boy room and gaming chair!

Vacationing is hard work!  Both kids slept in the car on the way home :)

Dada opened his Father's Day gifts once we got settled at home.  We got him some beef jerky from Bass Pro Shop, a "Coolest Dad Ever!" t-shirt, and a personalized keychain.

Our Week...with a Sick Family

Caylee's birthday week started out great with the kids playing together and having a great time!

On Wednesday, we celebrated her birthday with some cake and presents.  But by Thursday morning, she was throwing up and I had to pick her up from daycare early.  The flu was going around there last week, so she may have caught something from there.  She seemed fine after a long nap (when I took this photo), but she was on and off the rest of the week.

Dada stayed home with her on Friday, but then he got sick.  Grammy also caught it and was in bed all weekend.  Connor and I had some extra time to spend together since we were the only healthy ones.  Selfie!

Dada was feeling better for a little while on Saturday, so we all went to Connor's first basketball class.  The coach is awesome, so I'm really excited to see how much progress he makes over the summer.

On Saturday afternoon/evening, we said goodbye to my car.  As much as it can be a piece of junk, I've had it for 9 years and I'm not a person who likes change.  Both kids kinda grew up in that car and I've had it since I quit my first "real" job after college.  It's bittersweet to get rid of it, but I need something new and more safe for the kids.

The selfies didn't turn out very well, we were all tired, and it was raining...

On Sunday, Connor asked me to take a picture of him and Kitty snuggling!

Weekend in Indiana

Our 5 hour car ride was quite the ordeal with bad traffic, rain, and construction, so we got there really late at night.  Poor Caylee was pretty tired and slept in on Saturday morning.

When she woke up, she was ready to play!

She had her first ride on Grandma & Grandpa's boat!

Connor was so excited to try out his new Spiderman fishing pole (even if he didn't actually have any bait on it)

When we finally got the boat going, poor Caylee was all smushed into her life jacket.  Those are not made to be comfortable for babies!

She was not happy to be in her life jacket, but she felt better once I got her in a comfortable position and she ended up falling asleep in my arms.

The cousins loved being on the boat!

Daddy caught a big fish when he was out fishing!

Later in the afternoon, everyone took naps...except me!

The kids did some coloring with their new books and markers.

I was so impressed with Connor's coloring.  He insisted that he put the Ironman toy and book right next to his paper so he could look at them to see what colors to use.  Where did he learn that?  My little artist!

We took a golf cart ride around the neighborhood later in the evening...and it was fun even if she has a mad look on her face!

We stopped to look at the water and play on the benches and I love how this pic turned out.

Fun with Sawyer!  He's 4 months younger, but just as big (or bigger!)
