Waving

Friday (July 27), Connor came home from daycare with a little note on his daily schedule that said he was waving to everyone.

Huh? When did he learn to do that?

He did it a few times that evening from his car seat when he was looking at me in the mirror.

Then he did it again on Saturday to say goodbye to Great Grandma when she was leaving the family party.

He wouldn't do it last night...he'd rather bite my leg and chase Kitty around. But we'll work on it again!

Piggy

We have a piggy in our house.
His name is Connor.

We stopped at Arby's on our way back from Indiana on Sunday and Connor got his own order of Kraft mac & cheese. I figured we'd eat whatever he didn't finish.
But no! He ate the whole cup like a big boy!
For dinner, he had prunes and fruit medley. That wasn't enough, so he had some veggie puffs too. He's starting to get a little messy with the food now that he's grabbing onto the spoon and sticking his fingers in the food and then rubbing his face!
If he's still hungry, he bangs on the tray and shrieks until he gets more to eat. I usually give him some puffs or cheerios after he's had his meal and that will help him settle him down.

Weekend in Indiana

During our weekend in Indiana, Grandma & Grandpa invited all of the family over to see their new house. They also haven't seen Connor in a long time, so they were excited to see how much he grew.

Great- Grandma T was the first relative to arrive in the morning. Connor was happy to look out the window at the backyard with her.

Connor had so much fun giggling with Great-Grandpa S! All the kids love him!

Connor showed off his crawling skills to Aunt Cheryl and then got distracted by Bristol.
Luckily, Bristol is still great with the babies, so she didn't mind getting pulled on and chased after!

For lunch, Connor was a big boy and held his bottle all by himself!
He also had goldfish for the first time! (Or the first time that I've seen...I think he had them at daycare already)

Cousin Grady was also a lot of fun to play with. Now that they're both a little bigger, they can play together. Grady was showing Connor how he rides his little bike and Connor followed behind.
Connor fell off the bike when I put him on it, but he did enjoy pushing the bike!
They played with toys together and fought over every new toy that was pulled out from the bag.
A little tongue from Grady...
In the evening, family friends came over and the buys got to play with Camden. The water bottles were quite a hit and they all enjoyed shaking them, lining them up, and banging them on the kitchen floor.
Sunday morning, we had a little play time before we headed home. Connor got to play with the bike and spin the wheels.
He also played with the Sesame Street remote, but I could tell it wasn't nearly as fun as the REAL remote!

Water Boy

This weekend, we visited Grandma & Grandpa T's new house. They live right down the street from the boat dock and we took a few walks down there to check it out.
Connor & Daddy took a walk down the pier to look at the boats.

Mommy and Connor sat on the bench to look at the water.
(Um, I think I look like I'm 16 here...)

Dada

A new word!

Connor started saying "Dada" this weekend. It's a little sad that "Mama" has become second, but I'm so happy that he learned something new!

Connor's First Wedding Shower

Aunt Julie had her second wedding shower hosted by her fiance's family over the weekend. It was an extra special event because Connor was a special guest as one of the two baby ring bearers for the wedding.
Yummy necklace, Grandma!
We got to meet the other little ring bearer, Emmett, who is 5 months old.
I look ridiculous here, but Connor's face is cute. It was adorable when we held the boys up and they held hands! Everyone crowded around to watch, but no one was able to get a good picture of it.

Connor got a special seat next to the bride for the tea party. He was quite the attention hog with his shrieking and yelling while people were trying to chat!
This was the first time I've seen him hold his bottle by himself, but he did more playing with it than actually drinking from it.

After our meal, Connor took a "stroll" around the room a few times. It was absolutely adorable how he followed me like a little puppy in circles around the room!

By gift time, the boys were getting a little tired, so we tried to entertain them on the floor. Emmett showed off his rolling skills and Connor tried to pet him.
Everyone took a group photo at the end and you can see Connor hiding in his stroller. I was trying to get him to nap while we finished up. He was so tired from all that fun that he slept the whole way home!

Hood Rat

Yes, we call him Hood Rat.
(Hood rat, hood rat, hoochie mama...)

Anyway, love me a baby hooded towel! I thought these photos would be for me only, but he posed in a way that made it perfectly fine for me to post them on my blog. Thanks, son.

A trip to the mall & a new friend

Saturday, Connor and I met up with my old friend from college and her new baby. We try to get together a few times every year since we live pretty far apart, but this time was extra special because the boys got to meet for the first time!

Connor is 7 months older than his friend, Lincoln, but they look almost the same size here. They were so cute posed on the chair together!

Then Connor decided to pull on Lincoln's ear and clothes...

What a cutie! He loved snuggling with his blanket...
And Connor played wit his frog...
We had a really fun time at lunch, shopping together, and letting the boys get to see each other. The women's lounge at Von Maur was so nice and comfortable so we ended up nursing the boys and hanging out in there for awhile too. Good to know for future shopping trips, also!

Connor also got to enjoy his first mall playground! At first, he was scared, but I got down on my hands and knees to play with him.
He crawled to me through the tunnel...
...and then he played with some of the little activities on the side.
It was funny how none of the kids were interested in this wall maze thing, but then when we sat down to play, a bunch of older kids came over to see it. It was so cute how they were all very polite and avoided running into "the baby," but they all fought with each other about who got to play first!
A fun day at the mall for Mommy & Connor :)

Mommy & Me Dates

Connor and I have been spending a lot of time together lately and he's turning into quite the Mommy's boy. A part of me really love that he's just so loving towards me and needs me all the time, but I also want him to continue to be happy around others too. He's starting to follow me around and reach out for me when he's around other people. (Swoon!) He loves his Mommy!

I didn't even plan it, but his onesie says I <3 Mommy. I loved this photo from the neighborhood picnic in the park last Sunday. I haven't gone since I was a kid, so we walked over to check it out. Most of the kids were a little older, but we had fun playing on the grass and watching the older kids play games and jump in the bounce house.
This is my favorite from our Friday night date. We went to one of the "special" grocery stores that's a little farther away. We ordered his birthday cake and then shopped for some unusual foods that we can't get at the grocery store by our house. Connor played with the box of Teddy Graham cookies (pretty good, BTW) and made some friends in the store aisles when he smiled at the people walking by.
