Our Week

Aunt Julie's birthday was on Yom Kippur, so we celebrated on Wednesday night.  Connor was so excited for the "birthday party" that he didn't want to play until after birthday cake!

My favorite piece of Connor's journal this week was his picture of him playing on the computer.  Aww!

Miss Caylee with her super-sized drink at Corner Bakery on Friday.  Just ice, but she's a pro with the straw!

Milestones at 13 months

Somehow, all these big milestones are happening in such a short time!  She's growing up before our eyes and it's all happening so fast.  I feel like 13 months seems to be such a momentous age for her.

• I went upstairs to change Caylee's sheets and Connor ran up the stairs.  Caylee crawled in behind him which means she somehow crawled up the stairs all by herself! I didn't even know she could get up one step!

• Officially waving hello and goodbye

• First tooth popped

• Working on standing by herself

• Drank from a straw

• First taste of German food (brats, sauerkraut, etc)

• Trying to talk! Sometimes we think she's saying random words, but who knows? We thought we heard Connor a couple times which wouldn't be surprising since we yell it so often in our house.

• Next week, she'll spend her first few nights away from me :(  It's going to be hard for both of us (or maybe just me), but it's probably time to do it.

Splash Park & the Weekend

On Saturday, we met up with Lincoln & his mom at the splash park.  At first, Connor was really scared to get in as expected.  He changed his mind after a trip to the potty and then decide he was really excited to play with his "new best friend Lincoln."

After that, I could hardly even keep track of him because he was running so fast through the water!

They got tired pretty quickly, so we dried off and headed to lunch.

We ate lunch and then the boys both said they were tired and laid down on the big chairs.  You know your toddler is tired when they admit themselves that they're tired and want to lay down!

And this is 15 minutes into the car ride home...

After nap and a bad rain storm, we headed off to a 40th birthday party!  While Connor & his friends got muddy and wet in the grass, Caylee, Daddy & I hung out on the side.  I think Caylee was jealous of our drinks, so she tried out Daddy's water bottle for the first time.

As more people showed up at the party and the DJ started playing, Caylee and I did a little dancing! #tinydancer

On Sunday, we woke up and Connor helped build his new Ninja Turtle table & chairs.

Dumb photo, but doesn't Caylee look adorable in her tutu?

Mother's Day Morning

I was surprised on Mother's Day morning with some little gifts on the table at Grandma & Grandpa's house.

Connor gave me a big hug while I read the card that he signed for me.

He made me the cutest tote bag at school!

Caylee made me a footprint canvas at school too.

Dada did something very special and sweet after I went to bed the night before.  He fixed the crayon sign that Connor broke a couple months ago.  I was heartbroken and cried when he broke it, so Dada stayed up late and redid it for me.  Connor promised he wouldn't break it again, so it went back up in his room this week.

Dada made passion fruit mimosas for breakfast, so Caylee and I had matching orange drinks!

Our Week

Since I was so sick all week, the photos are minimal.  I was able to catch a few cute ones from before I got sick and when I was feeling better over the weekend.

Caylee tried on her new sunglasses on a warm evening

Dinner at the "Cowboy Place" and Connor was pretty thirsty!

He found his sleeping bag and insisted on using it.  Too bad he slept ON it instead of IN it.  And now we have him sleeping on his bed with it. :)

A little sun and jammies at the playground...

Sippy Cup Practice

She's been working hard!  Just in the last week, she learned to hold it herself and drink water all on her own!

23 weeks

A crazy week for us!  With our trip to Lake Geneva on Thursday night, I was running around packing, running errands, and trying to work overtime to get everything ready to go.  It felt great to finally be able to go on a little family vacation and really relax without worrying about cleaning or other things that needed to get done.

I took a nap on Friday and Saturday afternoon while Connor was sleeping and it was amazing!  Now, my only problem is that my body really wants one on Sunday too!  The bed was also a little harder than our bed at home, so I was able to sleep on my stomach.  Heaven!

I was sad that I didn't get to try any of the local beer, but I got a root beer on tap at Sprecher's that was pretty good.  We also had nachos & cheese twice from the pool bar that filled my cravings.

This is one of my favorite pics from the weekend.  Connor was so sweet and gave the baby a kiss and gentle pets!

20 weeks

Half baked!

Baby girl's head

3-D view of baby girl

I'm so tired of trying to find something to eat that sounds good, is accessible, and somewhat healthy.  Friday morning was a bit of an indulgence with a Diet Coke and hashbrowns from McDonalds.

I could have used a beer so badly over the weekend, so I had to settle for the Red Robin freckled lemonade.  I've never had it before, and I'm SO glad I finally tried it!  Amazing!  3 glasses later and I could hardly move, but that stuff was awesome.
Still feeling sick every morning around 10 am.  It gets better when I eat something, but it sucks to be at work for those couple hours when I feel like crap.  I might be going through a small nesting phase, but I think it's more about making money selling boy clothes and buying new baby girl clothes!

17 weeks

So this was my way to pretend I was drinking champagne this week.  The urges to want beer and champagne are getting bigger and I had to find something to satisfy myself.  I think I drank the whole bottle in less than an hour!

I'm also currently obsessed with cheese fries.  I had them Friday and Saturday and they sound pretty good to have more right now too.

I feel like I'm getting close to being able to feel the baby move.  I feel little flutters, but I think it's gas right now.  Hopefully, it will be in the next few weeks that I'll actually feel the baby.  I'm also counting down the few weeks until we find out the gender.  Can't wait!  It's going to be so nice to know so we can start organizing and getting things ready.

Mastering the Straw

We have no idea why it took him so long to figure this out.  He can drink from sippy cups, uses pacifiers, and eats from pouches, but he could not get liquid to go up the straw.  Something clicked last week and he did it!  Go Connor!  His reward was a little sugar cookie from Moe's after enduring his exam at the pediatrician and being a big boy during it.

The first treat after

I've been thinking about the first thing I want after I go through labor.

Seriously, do you think they would notice if we bring a 6-pack of Miller Lite into the hospital? Maybe that's a bit much...

But I mentioned to my dad that I wanted champagne so he got me a bottle to bring with!

My food desires keep changing, but I'm leaning towards Cooper's Hawk avocado eggrolls with their sweet sauce. Not like I'm actually going to get these IN the hospital, but I can dream, right?

Then this morning I saw a photo and it reminded me of the Swedish pancakes with lingonberries from Walker Bros. and that sounded really good too. I've also been thinking a lot about ruffle potato chips, but I may just buy those at the grocery store this weekend.

Hmmm...this is a hard decision!
