Our Week
Aunt Julie's birthday was on Yom Kippur, so we celebrated on Wednesday night. Connor was so excited for the "birthday party" that he didn't want to play until after birthday cake!

My favorite piece of Connor's journal this week was his picture of him playing on the computer. Aww!
Miss Caylee with her super-sized drink at Corner Bakery on Friday. Just ice, but she's a pro with the straw!

Our Week
What's better than plating dress up and wrestling while putting away laundry?

Dressing up like Daddy!
Connor begged to play with his new hot potato game and he loved it!
I had to take a picture of Caylee's last night in her mitten jammies before we retired them. The last little bit of baby :(
Connor started Kindergarten Prep lessons this week at school and they're going to be working on writing and journaling each day. He brought home the most adorable picture of his family (Connor, Daddy, Mama, tiny Caylee).

Our Week
New Lightning McQueen stickers were a hit! I saw them at the store and couldn't resist. He's already asked to play with them three times since I brought them home.

Caylee & Grandpa
Connor has been playing "library" a lot recently in our room
Batman shirts!
On Wednesday, Caylee stayed home with Grammy since she had a fever and couldn't go to daycare. They did yoga...
And took a nap together! Her fever went down, but her cold and cough didn't get better. On Saturday, I took her to the doctor and found out she had an ear infection in her left ear. Poor girl :(
Toga party while doing laundry!
Doesn't every brother brush his sister's hair with a pastry brush?

Caylee's Vintage Circus 1st Birthday Party Details
My birthday girl had a great day!

These parties get harder and harder with 2 kids and working full time, but we pulled it off! I could have done so much more, but I just had to draw the line somewhere for my own sanity. The decorations came out super cute, the food was good, and everyone had a great time!

DIY party hats with a special one for the birthday girl
Let's just go right to her wearing it because it's too darn cute...she was so upset that she had to wait for cake!

A couple hours before the party started, we ended up moving a lot of things outside because the weather was beautiful!

Happy Birthday banner in the kitchen
Party hats for the kids
Banner of monthly photos with her baby doll
Cards for the guests to write memories and advice for Caylee. Everyone wrote the cutest messages for her!
(I did this for Connor too, and I love that we can save them for him to look at when he gets older)

The snacks were also an important part of the vintage circus theme. Everyone pigged out on circus peanuts, gummy bears, candy buttons, popcorn...

Cotton candy, Cracker Jack, animal crackers, etc...
We also had soft pretzels with cheese dip, hot dogs & turkey dogs, and some everyday food too. Most of it got eaten before I got to take photos!

Weekend in Indiana
Our 5 hour car ride was quite the ordeal with bad traffic, rain, and construction, so we got there really late at night. Poor Caylee was pretty tired and slept in on Saturday morning.

When she woke up, she was ready to play!
She had her first ride on Grandma & Grandpa's boat!
Connor was so excited to try out his new Spiderman fishing pole (even if he didn't actually have any bait on it)
When we finally got the boat going, poor Caylee was all smushed into her life jacket. Those are not made to be comfortable for babies!
She was not happy to be in her life jacket, but she felt better once I got her in a comfortable position and she ended up falling asleep in my arms.
The cousins loved being on the boat!
Daddy caught a big fish when he was out fishing!
Later in the afternoon, everyone took naps...except me!
The kids did some coloring with their new books and markers.
I was so impressed with Connor's coloring. He insisted that he put the Ironman toy and book right next to his paper so he could look at them to see what colors to use. Where did he learn that? My little artist!
We took a golf cart ride around the neighborhood later in the evening...and it was fun even if she has a mad look on her face!
Fun with Sawyer! He's 4 months younger, but just as big (or bigger!)
