Precious Siblings.

It's the stuff like this that makes my heart melt.

We figured out that the kids are big enough to hold hands in my car now!  The cutest part was that Caylee copied everything Connor did on the ride from dinner to Walmart, so she followed him nodding his head, clapping, waving, etc.

Connor's First Daycare Show

Connor had his first performance at daycare on Friday evening.  His class sang and danced to 2 songs that they've been practicing for weeks.  We thought he might get too nervous right before it started, but he lined up with all the other kids and did awesome!  He knew the dance better than any of his friends and he impressed us so much!

After the performance, everyone played outside and had some caterpillar-themed snacks to go with the Very Hungry Caterpillar performance that the older preschoolers did.

Will this fit in my mouth?

Pet Expo Date

Connor and I had a special date on Saturday to the Pet Expo!  We haven't had a Mommy & Connor date for awhile, so this was the perfect opportunity to do something together that we both enjoy.

He begged to go on the escalator a few times and asked to take pictures :)

It was mostly dogs, but we got to play with some baby kittens

He stopped by every.single.dog to pet them.  One little pet and he was on to the next one!  He did a great job of holding my hand the whole time and he was pulling me from booth to booth so he could see every dog and cat.

We attended the puppy baseball game where dogs dressed up in Cubs and White Sox gear.  Connor's favorite was the Great Dane dog who was wearing a full White Sox uniform including a jersey, pants and sunglasses!

At the end, we stopped at the judged cat show where we looked in all the little cages at the cats waiting for their turn.  So many to look at!

It was so much fun to spend some quality time with my little man and then he asked if we could go to the zoo after to see the lions, elephants and dinosaurs :)

Shopping Cart for Two

Friday night, they finally got a chance to ride in the car for the first time together!  Connor picked out the fire truck and they both got strapped in for a ride.

He spent the ride showing her how to use her steering wheel and basically keeping her upright since she kept falling over!

Heart melted.  It was adorable!

Connor's Drawings

Connor started bringing home the most adorable little faces.  At first, I didn't even think they were his because they're so different than the usual scribbles he does.  But after awhile, I noticed the pattern that they all looked the same and his teachers told us he draws them all on his own.

He's also been working on writing his name and perfecting his letters!

Because he's getting so good and I love his faces more than anything, I decided it might be fun to turn one into a pillow for him.  I had him draw with a fabric marker on fabric backed with pellon and then I put soft fleece on the other side.

He LOVES it!  He's been sleeping with it every night!

Mommy & Me...

We had a really long wait at the pediatrician the other day, so I kept us busy by taking selfies after Caylee woke up from her nap.  To my surprise, my usual horrible selfies turned into some really gorgeous photos!

Just to show off the eyelashes and cute new shirt...

And finally in the exam room!

Success! Name Writing

Proud mama!
It look many, many months of begging to get this to happen.  We've been trying different games, apps, coloring books, toys, etc and nothing was really working to get him interesting in writing.  In the past month or so, he started to mention "C for Connor" and that was the beginning.  He wouldn't move past the C.  We knew that he was hiding how much he really knew and this proved it.

I showed him how his name was on his wall and he copied the letters onto his white board.

After that, we worked on how to write the letter N.

It was so cute because the next day, he brought home a bunch of his artwork from daycare and I found a paper that was covered in N markings.  He wouldn't admit it, but I know he was practicing his Ns after we taught him the day before :)

He looked up at me and said, "You're my best friend, Mama."
Heart melted.
