Our Week

Our week took a sad turn when we found out great-grandpa died and we had to go to Indianapolis for the funeral.  The kids had a great time with their family since they didn't really understand too much of what was going on.

During the wake, there was a kid's room, so I was able to take the kids away to play.  Caylee loved the kitchen and she found mama's favorite kitchen appliance!

After the funeral, we waited inside the church for everyone, so we played in the little kid's area there too.

The old school toys were pretty exciting for me and Connor loved using the washing machine!

He asked me to take photos of him eating chocolate cake!

On Saturday, once the funeral was over, we had some family time.

Some silly time at home...

Connor asked me to breastfeed his baby.  Heart melted.  Of course, I will!

Caylee figured out how to use her diaper pail.

Cake & Presents

#minionmania continues with the birthday cake!

The wind kept blowing the candles out, but we finally got them all lit at the same time so he could blow them out!

I'm so happy to have some wonderful photos of us of this great moment!

Finally...presents! Connor's reaction to presents was the most adorable and funny thing.  He's usually more excited with the idea of opening gifts than actually seeing what's inside and playing with it.  This is the first time that he had a real reaction to what was inside and it was the most precious thing ever.  I'm so glad I have videos of it because it's something I want to treasure forever.

He actually "read" a couple of the cards which was also really cute!

When he opened every gift, his reaction was, "Whoa!" with shrieking and yelling!  Everyone was cracking up because he was just so funny and enthusiastic about everything!

His obvious favorite was the Transformer that he's been talking about for the last week.  Great Uncle Stan didn't even know he wanted one, but he picked a great gift because Connor was obsessed from the moment he ripped off the paper!

Almost instantly, he opened the Transformer, thanked everyone for his gifts, and asked to go to bed.  The poor guy was worn out.  Of course, he insisted on taking the Transformer to bed with him.  We could here the little clicking noises from our bedroom as he played and fell asleep with it.  He was so exhausted that I could hardly even get him to talk to me about what a great day he had!

Usually Kitty is not allowed in his room during naps (according to Connor), but on Saturday, I found this and couldn't resist a quick photo.

"Mama, we're pretending they're in jail."

Lego Play Gone Bad

A little Lego time one night after dinner...(Note the matching tracksuits because, well, it's darn cute)  Caylee found the one Lego piece that looks like a pacifier that she took for herself.

And then Connor wanted it...

Sharing is caring.  We're working on it.

Our Weekend

We had a fun weekend as a family!

Friday night, we went to Friday's for dinner.  Caylee got to sit in a highchair after she woke up from her nap and she sampled a few foods from my meal.

Connor requested mac & cheese and oranges for dinner.

We went to Walmart for groceries and Caylee did great in the shopping cart!
On Saturday morning, the kids did some tummy time together and Connor tried to show Caylee how to crawl.

She got up on her hands and knees for the first time!  She's definitely scooting backwards and rocking now, but she's not quite moving.

I took her for spring/9 month photos in her pretty party dress and new shiny pink shoes (pics coming soon!) and she did great!  She wore the dress when we got home, but I took off all the accessories.

After nap time, we promised Connor we could go outside and try out his green truck that he got for Christmas.

We also did a little t-ball practice since classes are starting up soon.  He's hitting pretty well, but we really need to work on catching.

He's so sweet with her :)  He loves to put this necklace on her and I when he finds it in his toy box.

That old calculator comes in really handy as an extra "phone" when Connor wants to call someone.  He called Grammy and asked her how her day was.

In honor of March Madness, I took out the baby basketball set and we showed Caylee how to use it.  This has now become Connor's favorite toy again.  Funny how the baby toys come back and he loves them all over again!

Our Week

Caylee is finally big enough for her exersaucer!  She's the perfect height to stand and I put all the toys on the front so she can play in the family room.

This was supposed to be a cute pic of her with my leopard Santa hat, but she was hungry!

I kinda want her outfit...skinny jeans and zebra print hoodie!

Connor brought home the most adorable craft from daycare.  This DIY snowglobe is adorable!

Caylee had her first taste of fruit last week.  She loved her bananas!

Some sibling love on Saturday morning when Connor showed Caylee how to use the piano toy.

Cousin Debbie in Florida sent Caylee a crocheted blanket, so we took some photos to send to her.
