Santa at Our House

Santa made a special trip back to our house since we weren't home on Christmas.  I had a video of Connor walking into the house with the lights off and red Christmas lights making a path to the presents, but it didn't record all of it for some reason :(  He was in awe as he walked in and saw all the gifts.  He turned around and said, "See? I told you I get presents!"

This gift exchange was really special for me because it was just us.  I feel like all the other ones were really rushes and we didn't get to enjoy them or really spend the time to interact and talk about the gifts.  The rest of the holidays seemed very rushed and over-stimulated and this was after, so we could be more relaxed at home, and just enjoy the moment together.

Even Baby Caylee got to help open her presents!

But Connor helped a lot too

Connor loved his new Lighting McQueen sunglasses and Ninja Turtle socks, so he insisted he put them on right away and take pictures!

Weekend in Indianapolis

After Christmas was over, we spent the rest of the weekend hanging out and visiting with family.  Somehow, we still ended up being super busy and hardly got any time to really relax, but it was nice to see the family.  With Christmas being so crazy, I actually didn't even have a chance to finish opening mine and Caylee's gifts, so Connor helped us open them the next day.

Daddy and Grandpa promised Connor that he could drive his new truck since it was warm out.  They put it in the hallway and he had fun putting things in the passenger seat...including his baby sister!

When everyone got dressed, we went outside and he got to drive it down the sidewalk.  He did awesome!  He drove about a block, down to the lake, and then back up to the house.

Caylee had her first taste of mum mums with Grandma.

I don't think she really enjoyed them and she didn't get very much in her mouth, but we'll keep working on it!

On Saturday night, Grandma's extended family came over.  Everyone took turns holding Caylee and complimenting her on how laid back and happy she was.

Connor and Lex got along great and played really well together.

Caylee spent some quality time with her great-grandpa

On Sunday, Daddy found his old Nintendo and taught Connor how to play it.  I was shocked at how old the graphics looked!  Connor did pretty well as I thought back to how much I struggled when I was learning to play and I was much older than him.

Right before we left to go home, Grandma gave Caylee her special bottle of wine to open when she turns 21.  Connor has photos of his bottle of scotch from when he was a baby, so Caylee gets a bottle of wine.

Haha, already loves her wine!

Penguin Pajama Party

All the kids got matching penguin pajamas for Christmas that they put on in the evening.

It's hard to get 5 kids this small to look at the camera at the same time, but we tried!

Some kisses!

And just because this is funny...

How freaking cute!? Reading to all the little penguins!

Caylee reached out and held baby Sawyer's hand all by herself!

Christmas

We drive to Indianapolis for our annual Christmas weekend.  Caylee wore her special new velvet Christmas jammies for the morning and showed off her new sitting skills.

Connor left a plate of cookies, carrots and a cup of milk for Santa on Christmas Eve and then saw that Santa left him a little card and some presents in the morning.  When he woke up (at like 5:30 am), and we convinced him to lay in our bed for a bit, he thought he heard Santa and the reindeer upstairs!  Once we got dressed and the cousins came over, we started opening gifts.

Connor pulled the blanket off his John Deere truck and climbed right in!

After opening gifts, we drove to Great-Grandma T's house for lunch.  I had to get some photos of the kids all dressed up before they got messy.

Awww! He posed all by himself!

Caylee got to meet Angie for the first time and everyone wanted to take turns holding her.

Connor loved his Cars sleeping bag

Everyone was exhausted after a long, long morning, so we went back for naps.  I think I might have dozed off for about 5 minutes, but that was all.  At least the kids got to sleep a little more!

The kids took some of their new toys out...

Bow on his head!

Yum!
