Our Week

Caylee was a great little helper for her first house project!  Daddy and I worked on recovering our kitchen chairs while she slept on the floor by us.

You know you have a baby that loves to sleep when there's a staple gun going off a foot away from her and she doesn't wake up!

While this was going on, Connor was at Grammy & Grandpa's house reading books in his favorite outdoor spot.

Grammy also pulled out some of her music so they could sing songs together at the piano.  It was so cute to watch them sing together!

On Monday, Grandpa came over with dinner and helped with the kiddos while Daddy was at basketball.  He wanted to take photos of Caylee with his phone and she did a great job of posing for him.

We actually don't have a cute "after bath in a hooded towel" photo yet, so I wanted to get one this week.  Caylee has become quite the spitter like her big brother, so she's been extra stinky and needs lots of baths!

I made funfetti ice cream during the week and Connor got to try some after dinner one day.  He loved it!

On Friday, we met Aunt Teri & Uncle Mark for dinner at RAM when they were visiting from Indiana.  Connor shocked all of us by eating a plate full of carrots while we waited for dinner! His face makes it look like he didn't like them, but he ended up pushing them away, and then eating them all a few minutes later!

Row, Row, Row Your Boat

Connor's favorite song

I think Grandma started his obsession with "Row, Row," but we've all been practicing with him for months.  His toy cd player will sing the song and he started "rowing" to the song which was adorable!  He knew the song well enough to know which one to "row" too!

He also has started to say "row" when we say it while we play the song, but I haven't caught it on video yet.

Music Man

One of Connor's new favorite toys is his cd player.  He didn't seem every interested when he got it for his birthday a few months ago, but now he loves it!

After a couple days, he figured out how to put cds into the little slot.  He also loves to press the buttons until it plays "Row, Row, Row Your Boat" which is his favorite song.  He wills actually "row" for that song when it comes on!

Gangnam Style - starring Chicago burbs parents and babies!

Some of the parents and babies from our playgroup made an awesome parody of "Gangnam Style."  Connor and I can be seen around the 38 second mark as he gets a kiss from "Psy" in the tuxedo!

Bar Crawl

Literally.

We took Connor to Fox & Hound (restaurant/bar) for dinner on Friday night with Grand-uncle Mark and Cousin Ben.  Connor shocked us by being in a great mood and he stayed up extra late (which means we got to sleep in the next morning).  I don't know what it was, but he was rockin' out to the loud music playing, he was bouncing in his high chair, and just having the best time!  Maybe it was the large amount of tvs around the bar that kept him occupied?  Whatever it was, it was hilarious to watch him bouncing to the beat of the music!  We had a great time watching him entertain himself while we sipped our giant Blue Moon beer and snacked on BBQ chicken pizza and burgers!

Hood Rat

Yes, we call him Hood Rat.
(Hood rat, hood rat, hoochie mama...)

Anyway, love me a baby hooded towel! I thought these photos would be for me only, but he posed in a way that made it perfectly fine for me to post them on my blog. Thanks, son.

Dance Party

It's been awhile since we've had a Mommy & Connor dance party...
I pulled up a few YouTube songs to dance to, but Connor was more interested in the laptop...
Yes, your mom IS the best because she has dance parties!

Hotel California

Today I had lunch with my friend Christina and she was telling me about her daughter who loves certain songs while they drive in the car. So tonight, Connor started getting fussy and cranky and I decided we should introduce him to some music besides baby lullabies.

I rocked him in the chair in our bedroom and grabbed by phone to turn on I <3 Radio. I went through a bunch of random genres of music to see how he would react. When Mariah Carey came on, he started to smile! Then Hubby warned him that he should NOT like Mariah like I do. So Connor started fussing and shaking his head uncontrollably until his pacifier went flying. He seemed to enjoy "Crazy Bitch" by Buckcherry and Justin Timberlake and stopped crying for those songs. But his favorite was definitely "Hotel California" by the Eagles. I turned on the lyrics and sang along to the whole song and he loved it!

Good taste for a 4 week old baby!
