3 Years Old

I can't believe my little guy is three years old.  The time flies by so quickly...

He's grown up so much in the past year. 
• constantly shocking us with new words and phrases
• remembering things
• loves to sing
• current favorite songs: Take Me Out to the Ball Game, Baa Baa Black Sheep, Old McDonald
• loves school buses and points them out when in the car (along with other things like trucks, construction vehicles, fountains, police cars)
• can completely dress and undress himself if he wants to (and does at daycare)
• loves playing on the ipad (current favorites are Youtube videos, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Mother Goose Club)
• favorite shows on tv are Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Doc McStuffins, and Sofia the First
• excelled tremendously at sports during the spring and summer! He could hardly play at all when the spring started and now he's amazingly good at many of them!
• loves baseball the most (from playing at daycare), followed by basketball, golf, soccer
• started out age 2 with needing a lot of help to ride a tricycle, but by the end of the summer, he could ride on his own and go very fast!
• picked out a big kid bike with training wheels for his 3rd birthday!
• got a new baby sister in June!
• although he doesn't have that much in common with her now, he loves to give her kisses and show her off to his friends at daycare.  By this time next year, they'll be happily playing together!
• loves going to school with his friends!  His current favorite friends to play with are Jack, Cole, Keanu, Alex, Sienna, and some of the bigger kids who moved into the older preschool classroom already
• favorite teacher is Miss Catherine who was also his infant teacher
• current favorite foods are fruit snacks, pouches, milk, mama bars (granola or protein bars), Danimals yogurt, Annie's white mac & cheese, pretzels
• can count up to 25 (as far as we know)
• loves to draw fire engines
• is starting to say "Mommy" and "Daddy" instead of "Mama" and "Dada" [tear]
• the pacifier fairy came to take away his pacifier in the spring and he did awesome without it
• he picked out a new big boy bed and has been sleeping in it for several months now
• he's not always napping as much as he used to, so we've started to do quiet time where he can read books in his bed if he's not ready to sleep
• potty training is in process, but nowhere near complete...he's just not at the point where he's 100% there yet, but he has no problem going on the potty if he's in the mood
•got his second set of tubes in his ears and has been perfectly healthy since those were put in!
• favorite activity: puzzles! Once we discovered this, we were amazed at how good he is at doing them!  He quickly went from small 8 piece puzzles...to 24 piece puzzles...to 48 piece puzzles which he can now do in just a few short minutes!  We've started working on some 100 piece ones, but he just doesn't have the attention span for it yet.
