STTN!

People ask me on a daily basis whether he's sleeping through the night. I'm never sure how to answer. In books, it means 6 hours straight. But he's been doing that since he was a few weeks old.

To me, STTN means sleeping until 5 am since that's when I'll have to wake up for work. I guess Connor got the memo that I'm going back to work because he started sleeping until 5 or later in the last few days. So that's about 9 or 10 hours straight! I didn't get to enjoy them as much as I would have liked because I had to wake up and pump in the middle of the night. Holy boobs! But I am proud of my little man! He loves his sleep!

Week 12 & the Routine Starts

Week 12 was a bit of an adjustment for both of us. I started back at work and you started daycare. I think we both did pretty good considering it was the longest we've ever been apart. We're making it work and I treasure every minute I get to spend with you.

At the beginning of the week, we had a visit from Grandma and her friend, Gail.

Monday was our last day together before life started again, so I took a extra pictures! I decided we needed to snuggle, so I let you sleep next to me in bed.

You napped right next to me so we could be close together!

I also saved one of my favorite onesies for you to wear that day. I thought the words were appropriate for the occasion. Lots of smiles!

We started playing with your puppy, Scout, who talks to you. The first few times I turned it on, you just stared at it like you were so intrigued by it.
I also took some silly photos of you doing tummy time on the Boppy.
You don't like it, but I think you're starting to enjoy it a little more!
This photo looks strange, but I took it because you held on to your frog toy for over an hour! You even held it while I was feeding you!
To remember your first day of daycare on Tuesday, I took a quick photo of you all snuggled up in your carseat. You don't look very happy to be leaving the house to early!

It was a difficult day, but I put a smile on my face when I turned on my computer and saw you smiling back at me! I kept it up so I can always take a peek when I need a pick-me-up during the work day.

The rest of the week went by pretty quickly. On Thursday, I was able to leave work a little early and pick you up so we could go to our new mom meet-up. It was hard seeing all the stay-at-home moms planning outings and playdates while I have to work. Most of their husbands travel a lot for work, so they're alone a lot. You're very lucky to have your Daddy home with you every night.

Over the weekend, we had some time to catch up and spend time together. We took you on your first visit to Buffalo Wild Wings to celebrate Daddy's 31st birthday. We talked a lot about how he wants to take you there to watch games when you're older and I can shop while you hang out.

So all in all, not a bad week to start our new routine. Mommy thanks you for sleeping through the night so she can get a decent amount of sleep before work each day. Your daycare teachers said you're doing very well and we're happy you're adapting quickly.
