New Years Eve: Toddler Style

To celebrate the new year a few hours early, we attended a kids party at a local park district.  I had no idea what to expect, but it ended up being a pretty fun event.  There were probably hundreds of people there, so I was really glad to get there early before it really filled up.

Our first stop was the indoor carousel!  No long line, so we took advantage and got right on for Connor's first carousel ride.  He was a little scared when I first sat him on the horse, but he calmed down when it started to move.  By the end of the ride, he didn't want to get off! He was holding onto the pole and whining because he didn't want to leave!

After that, we stopped at the indoor playground and immediately hit up the slide - Connor's favorite!

We've been working on showing him how you take turns, wait in line, and climb up the steps to go down the slide.
They also had a huge climbing area with tunnels and helicopters, but he was a little too small for that.  He insisted on climbing part of the way with the big kids though!
He loved this little steering wheel that moved the helicopter propellers around in circles.

He also loved banging on the little window and looking at us on the other side.
When it got too crowded, we headed over to the gym for ice cream.  Connor didn't want his ice cream sundae, so Mommy and Daddy shared his and ate their own too/ :)
So big!
And then we went back to the carousel...

We ended up leaving when it got too crowded because it was just too much to handle.  We got home, made some dinner and Connor had a New Year's bath before bed.  Connor was exhausted and ready for bed by 7 pm.  Happy 2013, little guy!
