Birthdays are big deal for me. This year was extra special because it was my 30th and it was my first birthday with Connor. Unfortunately, him being sick all week made it a little more difficult to enjoy, but we still had fun.
The day started off with homemade pancakes made by Daddy while I was feeding Connor - one banana, one blueberry and one chocolate chip. Yum!
Looks like someone wanted a bite...
During the day, we went shoe shopping. Daddy got a new pair of gym shoes and dress shoes and Mommy got a new pair of boots for next winter. Then we went out for lunch at Cooper's Hawk because Mommy loves the eggrolls there.
Unfortunately, this meal did not go well. This was really the first time we've been out when Connor was just too hard to handle. He was sick, so he wasn't himself, but he's also growing up and wanting to explore more. He woke up right after we ordered, so I had to nurse him at the table. While he was sick, he wasn't eating well, so he was whining and kicking a lot. Once he was done, he was cranky and trying to grab at everything on the table. Mommy and Daddy were exhausted by the end of the meal!By that night, we were all very tired and Daddy decided we should open up some champagne that's been in the fridge. This bottle was supposed to be used the night Connor was born, but I was not in the mood to drink that night. We've been saving it since then!
Daddy didn't like the taste, so Mommy drank the whole bottle herself. It was yummy.
The next day, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a family birthday party. Grandma decided to make it a Big Bird theme because my 1st birthday was also Big Bird theme.
Big Bird napkins!
Sesame Street decorations all over the kitchen
Connor loved playing with the decorations!
Of course, Connor was the main attraction at the party and everyone wanted to take turns playing with him.
He loved the blue "doughnut/bagel" since he can't really stack all the rings yet.
My Big Bird birthday cake was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting - SO good!

A cereal buffet, that is great! I love cereal!! Glad you had a great birthday!
