Might be the luckiest mom ever...

And I probably take it for granted because I'm so used to it!

SLEEP.

It just dawned on me the other day how absolutely lucky we are.  I realized he's been going to bed at 7 pm since he was 3 months old last November and the time hasn't changed since then.  He couldn't even stay up longer if we wanted him to!

He always, always sleeps through the night.  [Runs and hides while the other moms try to stab me!]  We don't know any different in our house.  We honestly would not even know what to do if he woke up in the middle of the night.  He usually sleeps between 11-13 hours depending on if it's a workday when I have to wake him up in the morning or a weekend when he can sleep until he wakes up on his own.

He almost always naps for about 2 hours every afternoon ever since he got on the one nap schedule over the summer.  It's an amazing thing and I love having some down time to catch a nap of my own [rarely] or get some stuff done.

Besides him being the cutest kid ever, this is why I'm a really lucky mom. :)

17 months!

17 Month Stats:
Weight: ?
Height: ?

17 Month Milestones:

• Still using the infant tub in the bath.  Why change something if it works?

• Understands so much that we say to him.  It's pretty amazing!

• Will answer "What does a cow/sheep say?"  We've been working on the horse, cat, tiger and lion.

• Will point to his head, nose, tummy, eye and ear when asked

• Understands "put away" so he can help clean up

• Still obsessed with shoes - wearing them, carrying Mommy's around, pointing at them when we're at the store

• Starting to be more interested in Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse. He will watch small segments and he recognizes the familiar faces of the characters

• has a new fascination with balloons and calls them "boon"

• when reading Goodnight Moon, he will point out the balloon and kitties when asked.  We also point out the socks, mittens and cow to get more familiar with those words.

• No significant injuries this month!

• Ongoing ear infections with drops and oral meds

• Scared of rapping Mickey toy and giant sock monkey, but has warmed up to love the talking and rolling kitty toy

• Can stack all the cups and star toys in order all by himself

• Much more skilled at using a spoon on his own

• Loves cottage cheese or anything that resembles the cottage cheese container (same for grapes)

• Wearing mostly 12 month clothes, size 3 diapers for days and size 4 for nights

• Still sleeping perfectly! 11 hours during the week and 12+ on weekends

• shakes his head for "no" and nods for "yes"

Some faves from the past month...

Yo yo?

I made Connor blueberry wheat waffles for breakfast on Sunday.  He took a few bites and then did the sign for "more."  (He's been doing "more" a lot lately and I think he thinks it means "something else.")  I asked him what he wanted and he said something that sounded like "yo yo."  I didn't know what he was talking about, so I opened the fridge to look for something.  Yogurt!

Such a big boy!
