Splash Pad Summer Fun

On Saturday, we had a special playdate with Lincoln at the splashpad.  Connor was strangely very scared and wouldn't leave my side.  He's usually very outgoing and loves water, so it was a little odd for him.

I finally tricked him into splashing in one of the smaller sprayers when we ran through holding hands.  He loved it and kept saying, "Again!" so we'd go through another time.

The boys worked up an appetite and had a snack in the shade.

We went back in the water for a bit and then got changed for lunch.  There were a bunch of geese and ducks hanging around the park and Connor ran right up to them to try to get close.
We went over to Panera for a yummy lunch.  Connor had his favorite mac & cheese and stole a couple of Lincoln's apples when he wasn't looking.  He shared his extra mac & cheese with Lincoln too.  We had a great time with our friends and he was passed out 3 minutes after we left!

Friday Fun!

I planned a special day with Connor on Friday while Daddy was working.  It's the first time in awhile that we've had the whole day to ourselves to do whatever we wanted.  We started out the morning with some selfies in the mirror after getting dressed.

He gave me sloppy kisses on my lips too!

We got an early start and did a little shopping in the morning.  We picked out a few fall things for Connor's wardrobe including 2 new hoodies that he might get some use out of during the cold days in the summer.  His old hoodies are getting to be a little too small with those long arms!

After shopping, we headed off to a park playdate at a new playground I've never been to before.  It was really hot and sunny, but the kids had an absolute blast.  The moms were trying to hide in the shade as much as possible!

The kids all had a small picnic and Connor pigged out on every single piece of food I had in my bag for him.

After a little more play, I decided to leave because I could tell he was getting tired.  2 minutes after we drove away, he was asleep in the car!

After a nap, I really wanted to go to the pool, but I decided he probably had enough sun for one day.  We went to the mall where he played in the indoor treehouse play area.  I wasn't able to accomplish any of my shopping, but we looked around a little.  Daddy met us for dinner at Claim Company where Connor got 2 curly straws that he loved playing with during the meal.  He's been working on suing a straw and I think he's made some progress with it.
After dinner, we went grocery shopping and Connor was completely exhausted!  Time for bed!

An Ikea Playdate

On Monday morning, we had a special opportunity to meet up with some of Mommy's friends and their little ones at Ikea.  When we got to the kids' section, everyone got out of their carts and strollers to play.

Silly Connor would not sit still for a photo!

They had a great time playing on some of the childrens' toys and holding the soft doggie toy.

I think this little chair was Connor's favorite when he realized he could play peek-a-boo with it.
Everyone took turns sitting in the chair and it was adorable to watch!

Our new friends had to leave quickly, but hopefully we can meet them again soon.  Connor and I kept shopping and picked out a few things that we needed.  He got some new colorful plasticware and plates for the kitchen and we also picked out a small table and chairs so we can work on crafts!

A playdate

Connor and I had a very special playdate on Saturday.  I started talking to an old friend from high school recently and she babysits the cutest little boy every other Saturday.  We met up for some play time for the boys and time for us to catch up and gossip.

We met at in the play area at the mall (totally cute and perfect for toddlers).  Connor was adorable in his little plaid button down shirt, sweater vest, and cords playing in the little blue car!
For some reason, he really wanted to wear his jacket, so he put that on halfway through the playdate.  The boys shared some snacks, but Connor was the big pig who ate most of them.
We tried to get some quick photos of them, but they weren't interested.  They were both exhausted and we texted each other pics of them passed out in the car 2 minutes after we left!

Christmas Eve

In the morning, Connor slept really late (and Mommy and Daddy thank you for that).  He had some grapes, pancakes and milk for breakfast and then played in the kitchen with his favorite dog, Bristol.

After that, we got dressed and headed out for a special playdate with some new friends!  We met up at a kids activity center and both of the little ones was terrified of the blow-up bouncy toys.  Why?  They look like so much fun!  Connor needed a little warming up before he felt comfortable (I think he might have been sleepy because that's not like him at all).  But after a little while, he was racing around and pointing at all the lights and sounds coming from the arcade games.

We braved the pouring rain and headed over to a little cafe for lunch where he got to know his new friend, Maryn.
They held hands and it was adorable!

We made a huge mess on the floor, but it was really fun and we got to know our new friends.  It was really nice to get out of the house and meet up with a super sweet mom and adorable little girl.
While Connor took a nice long nap, Mommy got a chance to rest and watch some tv.  Grandma prepared a bunch of different appetizers and snacks for the family that came over to celebrate the holiday.  There was a lot of playing, giggling, and getting into trouble that night.

I loved every time Connor would walk by the Christmas tree and piles of presents and point to them.  He was very interested in this one silver box even though it wasn't for him.
Can we open presents yet?

First Halloween Party

On Saturday night, Mickey & Minnie headed out to a Halloween party!  As soon as we got there, he headed right for the slide.  (Big surprise!)

He was so proud of himself because he was able to climb up and slide down all by himself after practicing at daycare.  Of course, he still needed supervision or he would have had another set of stitches!

The party filled up very quickly and there were cute little dressed up babies everywhere!

Who knew mardi gras beads could be so fun?
We really had a fun time and Connor did awesome.  He was so independent and took it upon himself to meet other kids and pick toys to play with.  He didn't even need me there and he would have had a blast on his own!

Playdates

It's so much fun to take Connor to playdates now because he can actually get right in and play with the other kids.  I love seeing him interact with other kids now that he's a toddler.  All the other kids were older, but he got right in there with them!  We went to an awesome Fisher Price house party playdate on Saturday and he had a blast!

I can't help but love that he pushed the stroller with the doll around the room!  At daycare, one of his favorite things to do is take all the baby dolls out of their little crib and then get in it.

He also found a little cell phone that he enjoyed.  Not surprising at all...
And his favorite was this little bike!  I think they might have one at daycare because he knew exactly what to do with it!  And thank you SO much to Finally Mom and her Lovie for giving us the bike.  So sweet :)  He loves it and it's great to have inside for the winter when it gets too cold to play outdoors.
