Art Class

I probably enjoy this more than him, but I signed Connor up for three fall art classes at the park district.  All the summer ones got cancelled, so I was really excited to have them start up again for the fall.  The classes were held at the building where I used to take dance classes for many years.  (I swear, that place still looks exactly the same and I'm pretty sure the posted on the door has been on there since the 90s.)

We started out with some play-doh while the teacher set up for the main art activity.  Connor loves his "pay-doh" and was very excited to use all the tools.

We also did some puzzles and I was very impressed to see that he did them almost perfectly!

For the main activity, the teacher read a book about fall and apple picking, so our art project was related to this topic.  We used model magic play-doh to make an apple tree and glued it on the paper.  The kids could color their apple tree with markers even before the model magic was dry.

Connor's favorite part was the gluing!


After a little gluing, he got distracted and didn't want to finish coloring his tree.

He went back to the other table so he could put beads on a string!  Jewelry-making counts as art, so that's fine with me!

Getting a start on the holidays

The holidays are approaching way too quickly!  Since I just got Connor's 2 year photos, I took advantage of the Shutterfly sales to start designing holiday cards.  I loved this colorful card that is holiday-neutral for both of our families.

Yom Kippur

Our family got together for Yom Kippur on Saturday night.  Because of everyone being busy, we decided to celebrate Aunt Julie's birthday that night as well.  Now that Connor is the birthday expert, he was confused as to why there were presents for someone else and he insisted that he help unwrap them!

At one point, he even pull a bunch of the gifts out of one of the gift bags!

He showed Great-Grandma (Nana) how he knew the names of the animal magnets while we waited for everyone else to arrive.

Connor and Emmett had a great time playing together and eating dinner side by side.  Connor ate kugel like a big boy!

His face is just hilarious here and he knows he gets a big reaction every time he does it.

We sang Happy Birthday to Aunt Julie and Brett and Connor got very excited when he saw the cake and candles.

Connor got into his jammies right before cake and he was exhuasted!  This was the latest he's stayed up in probably over 1.5 years.  He had to stay to sing and blow out candles and then he went right home to bed.
