The Cake

The cake came out super cute!

It matched perfectly and you couldn't beat the price for a tier cake.  I honestly wish we had more leftovers for me to eat!  Once I brought the cake out, we were still setting things up.  She got really upset that she couldn't get closer to it and I ended up moving it towards the middle of the table after she stuck her finger in the side!  And then this happened...

So precious!

Once we lit the candle, she perked up and forgot all about why she was upset.

Connor blew out the candle for her

I waited a whole year for her to taste dessert and she pigged out!

She had a whole piece for herself and she ate about a half a piece on her own!

The rest was caught on video as she ended up rubbing the cake all over her hair and face!  It was the cutest moment from the whole party and I'm so glad I have it to watch forever.  She devoured that cake and had a quick bath with Grandma to clean up after.

Caylee's Vintage Circus 1st Birthday Party Details

My birthday girl had a great day!

These parties get harder and harder with 2 kids and working full time, but we pulled it off!  I could have done so much more, but I just had to draw the line somewhere for my own sanity.  The decorations came out super cute, the food was good, and everyone had a great time!

DIY party hats with a special one for the birthday girl

Let's just go right to her wearing it because it's too darn cute...she was so upset that she had to wait for cake!

A couple hours before the party started, we ended up moving a lot of things outside because the weather was beautiful!

Cards for the guests to write memories and advice for Caylee.  Everyone wrote the cutest messages for her!
(I did this for Connor too, and I love that we can save them for him to look at when he gets older)

The snacks were also an important part of the vintage circus theme.  Everyone pigged out on circus peanuts, gummy bears, candy buttons, popcorn...

Cotton candy, Cracker Jack, animal crackers, etc...

We also had soft pretzels with cheese dip, hot dogs & turkey dogs, and some everyday food too.  Most of it got eaten before I got to take photos!

Getting Ready to Party...

Two children.  Two stressed and busy parents. No sleep.

One child only took a morning nap.

One child didn't want to nap but spent his quiet time wearing his socks on his hands like puppets and jumping on his bed.
Luckily, both were overwhelmed with how much fun they were having at the party and did awesome!
