Birthdays are big deal for me. This year was extra special because it was my 30th and it was my first birthday with Connor. Unfortunately, him being sick all week made it a little more difficult to enjoy, but we still had fun.
The day started off with homemade pancakes made by Daddy while I was feeding Connor - one banana, one blueberry and one chocolate chip. Yum!
Looks like someone wanted a bite...

I got two birthday cards - one from Daddy (Winnie the Pooh theme) and one from Connor (Mickey Mouse pop-up card) which was really sweet. Then I opened my big gift - an ipad! This was a huge surprise! Daddy has realized that he has to buy me the things I will never buy for myself. Lucky for him, he seems to be enjoying the ipad even more than me :)

While I was getting my mani/pedi the day before, Grandma (my mommy) came over to babysit. Her and Connor decorated my house with some funny signs and Sesame Street decorations.

I forgot to get a photo of the sign on the front door, but that one was a hit because people commented on it. Someone from our home association group left a printed letter on the door and then wrote in, "Happy 30th Birthday Mommy!"

During the day, we went shoe shopping. Daddy got a new pair of gym shoes and dress shoes and Mommy got a new pair of boots for next winter. Then we went out for lunch at Cooper's Hawk because Mommy loves the eggrolls there.

Unfortunately, this meal did not go well. This was really the first time we've been out when Connor was just too hard to handle. He was sick, so he wasn't himself, but he's also growing up and wanting to explore more. He woke up right after we ordered, so I had to nurse him at the table. While he was sick, he wasn't eating well, so he was whining and kicking a lot. Once he was done, he was cranky and trying to grab at everything on the table. Mommy and Daddy were exhausted by the end of the meal!
By that night, we were all very tired and Daddy decided we should open up some champagne that's been in the fridge. This bottle was supposed to be used the night Connor was born, but I was not in the mood to drink that night. We've been saving it since then!

Daddy didn't like the taste, so Mommy drank the whole bottle herself. It was yummy.

The next day, we went over to Grandma & Grandpa's house for a family birthday party. Grandma decided to make it a Big Bird theme because my 1st birthday was also Big Bird theme.

Big Bird napkins!

Sesame Street decorations all over the kitchen

A cereal buffet in honor of ME

Connor loved playing with the decorations!

Of course, Connor was the main attraction at the party and everyone wanted to take turns playing with him.

He loved the blue "doughnut/bagel" since he can't really stack all the rings yet.

My Big Bird birthday cake was carrot cake with cream cheese frosting - SO good!

Make a wish!
