Mickey Mouse Birthday Party Details

Low-key this year, but still some cute Mickey party details and decor...

We baked Mickey & Minnie sugar cookies and they came out perfectly!

Dollar Tree just got these new balloons in, so I couldn't resist picking up a few for the kids to play with.

The new Mickey & Minnie I bought the kids came in handy as decorations for the hall table!

Ear Infection & Tubes Update

Friday we went back to the ENT for our monthly visit.  We had to start going every month because Connor was still having ear infections very regularly during the winter.  However, we were happy to report to the doctor that he did much better in February.  He had a little drainage during the last week or so, but it was much, much better than I've seen it in a long time.  Connor was not very happy when we arrived and he saw all the adults in white lab coats, but we tried to have fun in the waiting area to keep him busy.

First, he did his hearing test that he finally passed!  He's always failed because his ears were too clogged with fluid, but I was so happy to hear that he passed!  Now he doesn't have to have another hearing test until we're done with the ENT.  The doctor let us "graduate" to waiting 3 months to our next appointment now that Connor's ears are doing so much better.  Maybe this is finally behind us?  We can hope!

An ear update

Monday morning we had our post-op tubes appointment with the ENT.  Connor has had 3 ear infections since the tubes went in, so we were a little worried about what he would say.

First, we met with the audiologist who did a hearing test.  Unfortunately, Connor's left eat was completely blocked, so he wasn't even able to do the test on that side.  But his right ear had normal hearing scores and he did very well! I was so happy to hear that he's hearing the way he should be...on one side, at least.  He got a little sticker for being such a good boy during his hearing test and then we headed to the exam room to meet with the doctor.

The doctor brought in 2 nurses to perform a little procedure to remove some of the pus and unclog his left tube.  He cried the whole time (poor guy) as the doctor inserted a long needle-like contraption with a camera on it to push the pus out.  It was pretty cool to see on the screen, but I felt bad for Connor.  He's been to so many doctors in just the past few months and we joke that he has a fear of anyone in a white coat.

The doctor didn't seem concerned with his ear infections as long as they go away with the ear drops.  We got refills of the drops and then scheduled to come back in March to check his hearing again.
