Swimming

Connor has only been swimming once before, but he loves taking baths.  I was hoping he would be interested in the pool at our hotel.  I got him all suited up and Daddy blew up his floatie so we could try out the indoor pool on Saturday morning.

He was really scared at first and was clinging to Daddy.

Once I threw his ball in the water, he warmed up!  He thought it was funny when the ball would hit the water and splash them.

Finally, he got comfortable and back to his normal silly personality!

After I took some pictures, I promised him I'd come in and join the pool party.

His favorite part of the pool was Daddy throwing him up high!

At the end, he started getting pretty cold and started saying, "All done."  I would have liked to play a little longer, but I think he was also exhausted from swimming.  He did great and we even practiced "swimming" where Daddy held him on his belly and helped him kick his legs!

Greenbush Brewery

Maybe this wasn't Connor's first choice for dinner, but Mommy and Daddy like to visit breweries to try out different beers.  It was really nice out so we even got a table outside (which Daddy never lets us do!)  The special part about our table outside is that it was right next to the train tracks so we were hoping a "choo choo" might come by.  Unfortunately, no trains went by while we were out there. 

Connor loves that we got pretzels and beer cheese dip for an appetizer and chowed down on a good portion of the pretzels.


He got a fancy grilled cheese with 4 cheese for dinner!


After dinner, we hung around for a bit to finish our drinks and Connor got silly!

He's fascinated with glasses, so he always tries to steal mine.

Oh no!  He got them!

What a nice guy!  He paid for dinner too!

Washington Park Zoo

We were the first ones in line when the doors opened, so we got our pick of anything we wanted to see.  We walked right into a very fun bird display where you can go inside their giant cage and walk around.  Connor was really scared with all the tweeting from hundreds of birds, but he got confident enough to walk around a little.  One bird kept saying, "Hi!" so we made him wave and say it back.

We stopped at the cougars so he could see the "big kitty," but he had more fun pounding on the glass and looking at the big kitty's fountain of water.

When we arrived at the little train, Connor got really excited and wanted to get a closer look.  We watched some kids ride on it and then Connor tried to climb the fence to get on it.  I told we weren't going to be riding the train and the girl working there offered to let him ride it for free since he was so cute.  Connor's first train ride was so much and he loved it!  I showed him how to push the buttons on the car to make the "choo choo" noise too.

I think our favorite exhibit from the zoo was the goats because we got to pet them and get up so close.


He was screaming and squealing when he got to pet their heads and see them jump up on the fence to get closer to him.

One of the families there gave Connor a few pieces of food so he could feed the goat and he giggled as they licked it off his hand.

I think Connor is still a little young to appreciate the zoo completely since he didn't really understand the animals that were far away and harder to see.  Petting zoos are a lot easier for him because he gets to be up close to the animals.  We'll try again soon!
