Red, White & Blue

A little mini photo session in the backyard on the 4th while Connor showed off his red, white & blue attire for the holiday...

Big cheesy smile!
Wait! I never had to worry about this until now!

Good thing he's easily distracted...

Love this one!

Connor's First Heatwave

Daddy was hard at work on the basement, so we decided to check out the Splash & Play pool by our house on the 4th of July. It was over 100 degrees so we went early in the morning when it opened. (I was sad I couldn't get any pics while we played, but I didn't want to take a chance of my phone getting wet.)

Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I think Connor really enjoyed himself. We spent most of our time at the little fountain and water table area. He was small enough that he could sit in the table (that might not have been allowed, but oh well) and he could splash, play with buckets, and watch the water. I picked him up and held him in some of the fountains and he didn't seem to mind at all!
We took his little red crab bath toy with us so he'd have something he was familiar with, but it also seemed to be a hit with 2 of the little girls he made friends with. I ended up putting it away and just using the buckets at the park that they supplied. After awhile, Connor started getting antsy to "stand" where I hold his hands and he gets to stand up like a big boy. He kept begging for it over and over so we did some standing in the fountain and some of the little spray areas. He was very interested in trying to grab the water flowing out of the fountains, so he kept himself pretty busy. We stayed for almost 2 hours!
This was during our little shade break. He got some water and peach snacks and then we went right back in!

Our little boy is learning to crawl and it's so fun to watch! Here's a quick pic from one of the few times when he wasn't moving around. He doesn't really realize that he can go anywhere he wants yet, so he tends to stay in the same little area or follow Kitty around the room. He hasn't figured out what the gates (baby jail) are for either. He's pretty slow and heavy-footed, so you can hear him thumping around if you're on the floor below him and he's trying to move.
