5 Weeks

Mommy Check-in

How far along? 5 weeks

Weight: 107 lbs

Health: Unfortunately, I had a cold all week, so I don't know how I would feel if I was "normal."  I've been tired, nauseous, and out of breath a lot, so I guess those are all good signs.

Maternity Clothes: Not yet.

Sleep: Again, the cold was messing with my sleep.  I've had a hard time falling asleep and I've been waking up a lot at night.

Food:
I'm losing my appetite and nothing sounds good.  I ate some very strange foods (for me) like a pizza sub and hot dog this week, and they were SO good!

Best Moment This Week: The cold is getting better and I'm happy that I was able to get through the week.

Planning/Preparation: Just thinking about things that need to get done.  Our vacation to Mexico/Caribbean is now cancelled and we're going to go to lake Geneva instead.   Hell yeah, maternity leave July - Sept!  That will be SO nice!

What I Miss: BEER

What I'm Looking Forward To: Getting through this next week
If we can get through this week, it will be farther than last time.

Next Appointment:
Nov. 12

I'm scared.  The first few days, I was so scared I was going to wake up miscarrying like I did last time.  The worry has gone down a lot during the week and I feel more symptoms and feel more crappy.  I'm really trying to stay positive, but then I also hate being too positive because you never know what might happen.

Pumpkin Picking 2013

For weeks, we've been planning a special day for pumpkin picking with Aunt Julie.  Our first date got rained out, so we tried again on Sunday and had perfect weather.  Unfortunately, Connor was teething and unusually crabby, so he wasn't as happy as he could be.  But we still enjoyed our morning!

Aunt Julie loves piggies, so we started with them.  Connor said, "Hi piggy!"

We got tickets for the petting zoo and visited all the animals.  As usual, Connor ran right up to them for pets.

The camels look so big next to him, but these were actually the mini camels!

The baby cow was adorable!

Yep, that's my kid climbing the fence...

He wouldn't sit still for photos, but we tried!

When we got to the pumpkins, Connor loved crawling over them and using them like balls.

We stopped for a little pumpkin cookie snack and some water and then got back to playing!  By the end, Connor was very tired while we waited in line to pay.  We picked up some doughnuts and little Halloween decorations along with our pumpkins.  But when we went to pay, Connor's pumpkin broke!  He was way too tired to go back and find another one, so we left without one.  :(  Luckily, we have two small pumpkins at home, so we're still in the Halloween pumpkin spirit!

Kohl Children's Museum

On Saturday morning, we decided to take the boys to the children's museum.  Connor has been there once before, but he was only 18 months, so now he's older and can enjoy it a little more.

Connor's favorite section was definitely the mini grocery store!  He loved that he got to push his own cart and go shopping for food!

Notice the two giant containers of yogurt...that's my kid!

I was the cashier and helped him ring up all his purchases (including a giant bottle of ketchup).

He also enjoyed working at the mini Potbelly restaurant...although I don't think he completely understood the toasting of the sandwich.

He did made a giant sandwich with lots of good choices for ingredients!

In the little theater, Connor and Grady dressed up in capes for the camera!

Daddy showed him how to put the bands around the pegs to make shapes.

Grandpa showed them how to make a ramp to make their balls roll down to the bottom.

Feeding his baby!

In the animal vet area, he helped bandage the "owie" on the dog.

Last time, we didn't go in the water area, but the boys really wanted to go in this time.  They loved spraying water and watching the little ramps carry water around!
