Dates with Mommy

While Daddy was resting a little over the weekend, Mommy and Connor had some special time together.  On Saturday, we braved the rain and humidity to get out of the house.  At one point, it was raining so hard that I sat in the backseat with Connor and we played while we waited for it to slow down.  I think he thought Mommy smushed in the back seat was pretty funny!

After a couple stores, we went over to a teacher store where they were doing a little Father's Day craft for kids.  They had paper ties for the kids to decorate with marketing, marker dots, stickers, crayons, etc.  Connor was the youngest one there, but he did great!  He loves those dot markers at daycare, so he knew right away what to do with them.  I helped him put star and heart stickers on his tie and he did a wonderful job!

On Sunday, we went to the park TWICE because it was so nice outside.  He's getting to be so big and wanting to climb the monkey bars like the older kids.  I was shocked when I saw him get up to the second rung all by himself!

Friday Night Fun

We have a Friday night routine that we do every week when we don't have special plans.  After work/daycare, we go out for dinner and then head to the grocery store.  There's hardly any time before Connor has to go to bed, but we try to fit everything in.

This week, we went to Applebee's for dinner because we all love their pretzels with white beer cheese sauce.  I was such a proud Mommy that Connor colored with crayons (with his left hand!) like a big boy!

We got him his favorite mac & cheese and applesauce for dinner.  He also paid for dinner again with Daddy's wallet.

We usually try to switch up grocery stores just to find different foods to try.  That night, we went to Target since it's right by the restaurant.  While Daddy went off for a minute, I gave Connor hats to try on.  Shhh, don't tell Daddy!  By the time we hit the food aisles, Connor was being extra silly (which means he was very tired).  He started yelling, "Cereal! Cereal!" over and over again as we walked down the aisles.  We gave him a few new words to switch to and he just repeated them over and over again until we left.

The last morning in Michigan

After a fun-filled weekend, we all slept in on Sunday morning.  We had a quick breakfast in the room and packed up all our stuff so we'd be ready to go later.  Then we headed outside for a family walk around the area to see the boats and ducks.

I was trying to get the perfect picture of Connor looking out at the water and he just would not sit still!  This is the best I could get with this crazy guy!
Thanks, New Buffalo, for a fun vacation!
