Expecting teeth

Connor has been around a lot of moms over the holidays and they all tell me he's got all the signs of teething - drooling, chewing on everything in sight, etc.

I looked the other day and there's two tiny little white spots on his gums! They're barely noticeable, but they're definitely there!

Maybe my baby is in the minority and teething won't make him cranky at all...I can dream, right?

One of Connor's favorite holiday gifts was his new mirror from his Grandma & Grandpa.

He didn't get it at first, but once he really saw it, he started touching it and babbling a lot!

Happy New Year!

I can't say that we had the most exciting NYE plans, but we spent some quality time as a family. The day started out pretty rough. Right after Daddy took this photo of us, you dropped your rattle on my face and it REALLY hurt! Then I went to grab the dead lightbulb from the bathroom and dropped it all over the vanity. You were already a little cranky and I was worried you were going to get glass on you.

We headed over to Lowe's to pick up some plastic totes for organizing the basement. After the great flood of 2011 over the summer when I was 36 weeks pregnant, we decided we should store everything in totes instead of cardboard boxes. We went to pig out at Panda for lunch and you started getting a little fussy. Our plan was to spend the afternoon organizing the basement and getting started on plans to finish it one day so you have a place to play.

I don't think you liked that idea very much because you were not in a good mood! I think all the holidays, family gatherings, and messing with your schedule really made you upset. It was a pretty stressful afternoon for me trying to keep you happy while we cleaned out the basement. We finally had to give up after a couple hours because we were too tired from your antics!

I finally got you to take a nap so Daddy and I headed to the kitchen to cook our fun NYE appetizers. We made low-fat cheese & artichoke dip, baked crab rangoon, and strawberry angel food cake rolls. Considering everything was pretty healthy, they came out pretty good. We munched on the food while you played on the couch and watched tv.

On honor of NYE, I dressed you in some very special pajamas! These were MY pajamas! There's also a little alarm clock on the side so I thought that fit well with the NYE theme.

You and I went to bed very early that night. We were both very tired!

On New Years Day, your Grandma & Grandpa Tunison came over for lunch. You spent some time with them and seemed to be back to your normal happy self again. After they left, you and I spent some quality time together at the mall. Mommy's favorite place! I did some holiday returns and got a few good bargains while you napped in the stroller. That night, you had some play time in the boppy with your new lion toy you got for Hanukkah.
